You don’t expect much when you walk into an Officeworks store… but on March 31st, I experienced real kindness.nnI came in to print a photo for my dad’s funeral, and a young guy with glasses in the printing section helped me. I didn’t get his name, but I won’t forget how he made me feel. Calm, supported, and treated with genuine care.nnHe handled everything with respect and compassion, and in that moment, that meant everything. Thank you.
I had attachments in my email which I needed to get printed out. My printer is out of action at the moment, so off to Officeworks Frankston I went. Ridge, the staff member came straight up to counter and assisted me with a smile. He was so helpful and friendly - a great Customer Service presence for the store
Waited more than 10 minutes while the only staff in the printing section printed and laminated sheets of a book for a guy. She did not look up once while a line formed. She did not apologise when she finally got to me. She did not gaf.
My experience with office works has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I went in yesterday around 5–6pm to get my Year 12 VCE Specialist Maths reference notes bound, and they completely ruined them. When I checked them later, around 10 pages of my original handwritten notes — my only copy — were missing, and the last few pages in the bound stack of notes were photocopies of my notes instead of the originals I’d given them.nnInstead of admitting they made a mistake, the girl who bound them yesterday tried to cover it up by quietly binding photocopies and hoping I wouldn’t notice. And she didn't even add all the copied pages in.... There are still so many missing pages which are crucial notes I spent time on. This is unbelievably dishonest, disappointing and frustrating.nnIt took over 20 minutes to get the binding done it usually takes about 5, and although it was a long wait, I was alright with it and left thinking everything was fine. I only found out later that my notes were missing — and if I hadn’t checked carefully yesterday, I would have walked into my exams missing crucial material that would seriously pull down my study score and ATAR, which is very detrimental for me as someone who is aiming high.nnWhat’s most shocking to me is that majority of my original notes were never found. I went back today, wasting over an hour of my study time again, to try to recover my missing pages. Instead of finding my notes, the staff there today only found two photocopied pages and told me the girl responsible for yesterday's binding is currently uncontactable. Even worse, I found 30 pages of my friend's notes also in Year 12 doing exams! that were damaged and thrown out in the same pile. This is a shocking level of carelessness, lack of professionalism and breach of trust.nnBoth my mum and I wasted hours going back and forth today and yesterday — she even took time out of her work day today to take me back to office works — and we still left today without majority of the notes I spent ages on. I got a refund, but that does nothing to fix the time, stress, and damage this has caused to my exam preparation. I will now need to spend even more hours rewriting these notes.nnOfficeworks has completely lost my trust. During the most important time of my academic life, they showed zero accountability, zero care, and zero honesty. I will never use their services again, and I wouldn’t recommend any student to go near their binding services.
Came in at 8:30pm for back to school supplies and couldn’t find a couple of items. I asked Ben who looked very busy he was super helpful and kind, he even searched the products for me online when they didn’t have them in store. Thank you Ben!
