Shini at Off the Kerb is a gun gallery director and curator. Her curatorship is perfection and she is extremely professional. As an installation artist exhibiting in the gallery, I felt extremely supported and well represented. It was a privilege to show in this beautiful gallery space.
Off The Kerb Gallery is a fantastically run space that supports local artists. The enthusiasm and passion that comes from this wonderful gallery and it's staff is unparalleled. Any one lucky to be able to visit Off The Kerb can immediately sense the artistic community that is fostered in this great space.
Cute artist run gallery that exhibits awesome art and most importantly, affordable art! Off the Kerb exhibits a many of the established Melbourne street artists that I adore therefore making street art accessible to the public! Keep up the important work :
Fabulous and friendly gallery supporting both emerging and establishing artists. A Melbourne institution. I have purchased many works and attended many openings at this incredible space and have always been welcomed with smiles and open arms. The bar has eftpos options and there is always something worthwhile exhibited there. Definitely pop in - a Melbourne must.
Fantastic gallery to find emerging artists and their work for very affordable prices. I've bought some lovely pieces from OTK and it's always been an easy and smooth process!
Off The Kerb is a beating heart of the Melbourne arts scene. It’s a welcoming and inclusive gallery that is committed to showing and supporting the best of Melbourne’s emerging and established contemporary artists. The ever changing curatorial program brings a vibrancy and intrigue to the scene allowing gallery goers and the wider community to view works at the cutting edge of contemporary art locally and further afield. Putting the artists at the centre of her approach, OTK Gallery Director Shini Pararajasingham offers opportunities for artists to not only exhibit their work, but to also develop and evolve their artistic practice and work making. Through an established and renowned professional development program, Shini also offers artists and the wider community on site learning opportunities on curation, grant writing, portfolio review and exhibition planning for example. From Shini’s passion, expertise, vision and realisation, it is a gallery that offers a holistic experience and support to the art and wider community that have come to call it their art home.
Thank you OTK for curating the artwork at our house and giving the best advice on the best art. All the pieces you’ve recommended over the years are absolutely perfect.
A two storey terrace converted into a great little gallery space with a small garden out back. Went there for Walking the Wood and saw some amazing art.
An exceptional gallery experience, both as an appreciator of art, and an artist- the curator goes well above and beyond to help artists find a place in the industry. I cannot recommend Off The Kerb highly enough, they set the gold level standard for galleries.
Like most non profit gallery space, Off the Kerb Gallery offers wide range of art on display. It always worths the time to do your research before heading over so you are sure you are attending an event that suits your taste. There are 3 gallery spaces and generally the sort of artworks are quite similar in one opening. Good company + Cheap drinks = Win! The Tote Hotel is right opposite so if you have some bearded friends over there, invite them to join you.
