This place saved my sister’s life, and she got to spend lots of time with her kids whilst there which was important, she learnt about gaining her independence back and respecting herself and others. It took her a good 8 weeks to a just, my sister had a heavy drug problem and it did lead her to live on the streets. I can say only positive things about Odyssey, when she left Odyssey she was medication free, which l never thought would happen if you want to make changes in your life this is the place for change. Like anything there are days that are challenging. She is in housing now and has both her children living with her. If my sister can do it l believe anyone can. Good luck to all and stay positive. We definitely need more places like this
Here’s an honest review: My family member was a resident here. It is impossible to talk to staff even when it’s urgent. Staff will not return your calls or emails. There is zero communication or support for families. The staff that do work there are rude, disrespectful and do not have any genuine care at the Lower Plenty site. The only therapy and help the residents are getting is group therapy which doesn’t involve much and forced to “work” every day doing things such as mindlessly raking leaves for 8 hours. No mental health support for residents. Very depressing place. Very, very limited family contact and opportunities to visit. No therapy options which seems ridiculous considering it’s supposed to be a rehabilitation center. Family member transferred somewhere eventually where they are actually offered multiple daily therapies and counselling and you’re told to call anytime you want to talk to staff! Would only recommend people go to Odessy if straight out of prison/no other option & no family! Literally just a place to go other than prison or to stay off drugs but not to get genuine help, support or therapy to better your life. Other sites might be different but Lower Plenty was pretty useless.
Never try it! 1 star is meant for -1 * ! You wont have a chance to challenge anyone above your lvl! Shame on me to waste my time on such a low rehab! Open your eyes more rehabs out there
Odessey house is very effective at transforming the people's lives who truly want to better themselves. Has also trained a close friend to have a very high level of integrity and brought so much happiness to him.
I just called to see if my sister was still at Odyssey house I spoke to Adam he was so rude and hang the phone up on me and wouldn't tell me if she there or not. I didn't want to speak to her I just wanted to know if she was there and I still don't know of she is or not!? There so ducking rude it's sad
On my first day all staff were so rude it was awful Do not go here unless jail is your only other choice
Bunch of lagging dogs, boneyarders for sure
They did a terrific Job at getting my father sober.
Wasn't pleased with the service I got picked on everyday I was there and I didn't feel happy at all being around the people there
If it wasn't for Odyssey House, I wouldn't be the person I am today
