Probably just recommending drinks here. Service was great at the bar.nnThey have an app that you join to be a member and drinks are discounted. Unsure if it’s all worth it and you save much.nnThere was a difference in food prices for members and non members but still usual pricing and not really getting significant savings as the non members price is already quite high. The fish n chips is $30 for non members and $27 for members.nnWe got a schnitty and fish n chips. They weren’t anything to write home about. There weren’t many chips served on either dish. I didn’t think the dish was worth $27.nnThe wait for our food was normal. The menu has plenty of options. Good usual pub atmosphere and has a pool table room. Also a new deck is being renovated and looks like it will be a great place to enjoy a drink.
The reno work is excellent! Unfortunately inside the old wee-wee carpet still has the same smell. Be sure to book in advance!nThis time the Ceasar salad was drowning in sauce that didn't taste like Ceasar salad dressing, far too pink. Recommend reserving a table especially on weekends. Great chicken schnitzel with an itty bitty tiny salad and great extra crispy chips. Steak sandwich was excellent We really enjoyed our meals today. and chips. 2 really cold The staff were super friendly and when not sure what to order, gave us a taste Looked good. Views are great of the little harbour. Lovely spot for a slow lunch. Parking in the back. Shop attached so take one home . Accessible by bus, right out the front. Enjoy.
Great food, excellent views.nnI am updating my written comments after another visit last weekend. We had a booking on the balcony for 5.30pm. Owing to a miscommunication, our table was booked for 4pm instead of the original reservation of 5.30pm. A simple communication issue that shouldn't have caused any real problem except another group had decided to sit at our reserved table earlier on when they found theirs had some other patrons on it without a booking, we presume who were refusing to move. Instead of alerting staff that there was an issue or that they were sitting elsewhere, they simply found another table and hid the marked reservation sign! We arrived around 5.15pm, knowing we were slightly early, happy to find a seat until our booked time, but we let a staff member Charlotte know we were there as it was incredibly busy and we suspected that our table would need to be vacated first. Charlotte pointed us in the direction of our booked table, whereupon the issue of the reservation became problematic. We located the table, but there was no reservation sign. We advised Charlotte, who proceeded to the table to request the girls move shortly. Very long story short, they advised what had occurred & refused multiple requests by staff to move, which, I suppose is understandable if they had a booking themselves, but it left us with nowhere to go. We were very patient because it was the 25th of Jan, a Sunday, and incredibly busy. We didn't mind where we sat from 5.30pm onwards, as long as we were outdoors, but there were no tables free. By 6pm we managed to find seats outside, with another couple, although it was reserved for someone else so we knew we could not relax yet. We let Charlotte know where we were so hopefully she could resolve our problem b4 the other party arrived for her seat. In the end, by about 6.30pm, it seemed very apparent that our table wasn't going to become free anytime soon. We spoke with Charlotte again and she ended up taking the reserved sign off the table we were at so we wouldn't be kicked off. All in all, a very messy start to the evening. Charlotte was already incredibly busy, but there didn't seem to be any other staff member who could support in getting our problem resolved, so I'm disappointed if we added to her stress that night. However, we did have a reservation and being unfamiliar with the area, leaving at 6pm to try and find an alternative venue with available seating, wasn't viable. We were glad that inevitably we got seats, but it added significant time to our evening and, given we had to drive back to Sydney that night, had us home much later than we'd hoped.
My visit here was so Amazing, The food drinks you were all great too.nIt was beautiful sunny day sitting out on the deck, enjoying the view with a very Nice family vibe. Definitely nice to see the new renovations.nWe will definitely be back.nGreat work ocean beach hotel!
Located at 2 Addison Street, Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia nI had a lovely time here, I had the Peri Peri Chicken Skewers for $28 Members Price and I thought it was delicious . My friend though had a chicken schnitzel and he didn’t like it, no taste and very tough he said. The hotel itself is designed very nicely, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The view from the balcony over the water is stunning. The prices are pretty average for a hotel/pub. Parking facilities are very good, plenty of parking. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend with no hesitation based on my personal experience. Thumbs up!
