Located at 1 Dame Mary Gilmore Road, Oatley, New South Wales, Australia nOatley Park is a wonderful place to bring the family, especially the kids. The playground is fantastic. The main tower is great but can be a workout, even for an adult. The slide is good but can be fast. There’s a flying fox and it’s quite popular, it has a harnessed chair for younger children. There’s also BBQ and seating facilities for people wishing to have a picnic or just have a seat and relax and good toilet facilities. The steamroller is always popular and a great touch to the playground. There’s various walking tracks around the park and they vary in difficulty depending on your capabilities, from easy going to more difficult. You can use these paths for cycling , hiking, walking your dog on leash, or just a casual stroll. It’s very popular on the weekends. The Oatley castle is always a great spot to visit, it has amazing views from the top platform. It was built during the Great Depression . I remember coming there as a child and enjoying it. Also worth going down to water. There’s a great fishing spot on the wharf snd the Oatley Baths are a wonderful spot for swimming. Oatley Park is open from approximately 6.30am and the gates close at dusk year round. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oatley Park. You can really make a day of visiting here. It’s so family friendly. A definite Thumbs up from me
Oatley Park is remarkable because of the variety of activities and spots that are on offer. If you seek to bring your family for a picnic, there are areas, tables and BBQs. If you want to swim, there's a large area that is protected with a net. If you just want to hike, there are many paths that will take you around the park. The park also allows cars access and provides several parking areas. You can leave your car at the entrance parking lot and hike down or drive to several others lots that are situated in various corners of the park. One of the best assets of this park is that it's never too busy. You can always find a quiet corner if this is what you prefer.
Great park for family and picnic. A lot of activities for kids to play also a lot of table bbq as well with cover. Unfortunately if you need to go toilet you need to walk down a bit. Free parking
This was a great park to visit. The shared road in cars, bikes, pedestrians was a bit different.nnThe kids playground itself was great with a range of activities for different ages. The main tower was a workout even as an adult with a spider web netting to climb and a difficult entry into two squares underneath the slide platform. But once you get in there it's a great view. The slide is quite fast and dark. You will get knocked about in it but it's fun. The flying fox is a mix of a chair with a strapped chair for the younger riders. All the kids brought the seats back which was very well mannered.nnThe walking tracks around were a bit of a maze but good take a picture of the map on your phone. One in particular had a QR code to explain things along the walk you would never know. The bath area was all netted and looked like a nice place to dip on a warmer day. I can understand why there was a swimming club built there back on the day.
The oatley Park was my 2nd time going there because the weather was very nice to walk into those big footpaths where I didn't know there was a seating area to have our morning tea there. We took a lot of photos very happy for the water view. Enjoyed ourselves playing badminton.
