Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the room I checked into had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. It's not something the hotel can stop when people choose to do the wrong thing. However, housekeeping would have been able to smell it without a doubt. The lampshades were bent, and the air-conditioning stunk. It visibly had a huge build-up of dust. I requested a different room which was accommodated without a problem. But the new room had some sort of food or fluid marks on the wall plus plastered holes in the wall along with a room deodorising smell that gave me allergies. It did not meet 4 star standards at all. I opted to leave and checked in elsewhere. It offered a reasonably clean room and comfortable but firm bed. But if you're looking fir luxury, The Oaks misses the mark in my opinion.
Stayed late 2024. The room was fine and beds were comfortable. The TV remote didnt work at first and we had trouble with the AC not working. Ive seen another review where the AC didnt work. The staff were helpful and kind except one woman who was appallingly rude and sarcastic and unhelpful. Would recommend.
Customer service experience at reception when checking in was poor. Was made to feel like an inconvenience.nThe room was looked tired and wasn’t very clean. They need to update the TV’s as they are frustrating to use.nLocation was very good for the purpose of my stay.
We stayed at room 631 & 632 on the 2nd of January 2025. The rooms had a horrendous stench. One of the bedrooms smelt of pure cigarettes even though we booked non-smoking rooms & the other had a strong, awful odour. It was extremely disgusting and uncomfortable to stay in. Sleeping was very difficult as we were so grossed out by the place. We checked out the earliest we could even though we wanted to stay another day in Sydney we drove and stopped in Sydney on the way to Melbourne from Brisbane.nnWe checked in at around 10 pm on the day and immediately complained to the person in charge. But he told us the hotel was fully booked and couldn't provide a different room. We checked out as soon as we could after an uncomfortable night.nAlso, we complained to the cleaner and manager in charge the following morning.nnWe always check Agoda reviews before booking an accommodation or facility. However, after this experience, we cannot trust Agoda's reviews about this hotel. Also we submitted this review with Agoda but they did not publish it. It looks like Agoda only publishes the positive reviews. When we book next time, we will also review the accommodation on other platforms.
Luxury and comfortable suits… all the necessary facilities were provided, 24 hours reception service…. onsite parking also available for just $20 per night… great for value and highly recommended for if your travelling with group of friends or family
