We booked this accommodation in good faith as a special extended family short break. Family from the UK were with us and we genuinely thought, with the Oaks reputation our accommodation would meet the standards as sold to us via the website. The rooms were out dated, poorly maintained with broken and dirty blinds, loose kitchen cupboards, bulbs missing plus so much more. We booked 3 rooms…the one bedroom being the best one. One of our parties moved rooms so they could get a decent nights sleep as there was no curtain only voile in the bedroom. The other party had unpacked before they started to notice all the disappointments with the room and as were only there for 2 nights opted to stay in the room for ease.nnThe manager was professional when dealing with us, there is no dispute in this regards however the hotel maintenance and housekeeping teams were not able to remedy all the concerns leaving us with there was a bitter taste in our mouths.nnThe hotel isn’t cheap, the 2 bedroom apartment with the disappointing concerns cost over $700.nnThe manager offered compensation for the first night stay which was welcome and appreciated.nnBefore you book this hotel please be aware the images on the website do not necessarily mean your apartment will look like that!!!! You have been warned!!!!
Just returned from a lovely 5 night stay at Oaks Seaforth. We stayed in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment which was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the week. Loved the large balcony with access from both the lounge and the bedroom. Beautiful garden and outdoor areas and we enjoyed both the heated and lagoon pools the lagoon pool especially is a very relaxing. Great location and walking distance to cafes / restaurants and the beach etc. We enjoyed our stay so much, we have booked to come back in August and are looking forward to another great stay at the Oaks!
I booked a 6 night stay here to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment as there were 2 adults, 2 teenagers & my baby. I had requested 2 king beds & a cot. The room had 1 king bed & 2 singles, no cot. They brought a broken portable cot up and charged me an extra $20 per night. The apartment was a major let down, it was dirty with outdated furniture and carpet with cigarette burns, yellow stained sheer curtains, rusty bins & cockroaches. Also the WiFi went down for several hours on 3 different days. The jets didn't work in the bathtub, the ceilings were stained, the stove was faulty & the walls were thin, you could hear everything from the neighbour apartments and hallway. I did address these issues with reception but they were unhelpful and had no resolution. We ended up leaving a day early with notice and was refused a refund. It's safe to say we will not be returning for another stay. I don't know how this place got 4stars as it's definitely not up to that standard. I advise you book elsewhere if you want a nice modern place to stay or holiday at. The only positive thing I have to say is the pools were nice & location was good, not great. This resort was a massive disappointment and I feel that I wasted my money & time.
I visited some people who stayed here. The reception staff were lovely. The foyer to go up to the rooms though absolutely stunk like vomit/durian fruit or something. The lifts also had a pretty strong BO smell and were very hot. The hallways leading to the rooms were clean. The room itself was nice and spacious but could use a bit of a spruce up. A couple of things that had been shoddily repaired and in poor condition, but overall was nice and clean. The air conditioning worked great. Nice view from the balcony. Price per night was a bit excessive though.
We booked through an Airbnb - level 6 apartment in the Newport building. The apartment complex is well maintained with the reception area very tidy, all the hallways very clean and fresh - and both lifts working! Pool is lovely, downstairs is a great supermarket, and the French bakery is AMAZING. Best thing - we could bring our shmoodle. There were a number of dogs on site. Most surprising was the fact of no smell!! People - longterm and short term were respectful of using long walking areas out the front for pets and taking doggie bags to collect messes. Very impressed at the overall culture of this complex. We'll be back
