Where do I start? Bedroom has no natural light. Shower water pressure almost non existent. Shower head at nose height for average height male. One towel provided had a large brown stain. Housekeeping was not conducted at any point during despite putting the "please clean my room" sign four days in a row. Random steps in living room go down to an alley facing dumpster and car park. Interior of hotel feels like an old prison corridor. Location poor and very difficult to get to on foot despite fairly central location. Having to walk through two levels of a dirty car park to get to Darling Harbour is ridiculous. Wifi practically useless. Noise from other rooms and corridors comes in to the room easily. Aside from the above, the room was well equipped, and staff were pleasant to deal with. Bed was very comfortable. But there were too many negative factors for the premium price paid. Would not stay here again, and would not recommend anyone else do so.
I travelled in a group of 4, booked months ago, asked for 2x twin rooms on the same floor as each other. Checked again that this would be possible a few weeks in advance - yep all good. Arrived only to be told there were no available rooms on the same floor. We were given different rooms on different floors. Not usually a big deal but the swipe cards don't allow you access to different floors other than your own, so to meet with our companions we had to go all the way down to level 1 or 2. It definitely impacted the enjoyment of our stay. We were offered an apology but not a reduced rate or any alternative room options. The room itself was fine, bed comfy, had more facilities than expected, with a full kitchen set-up oven, dishwasher, microwave, stovetop, and the bathroom had washing machine, dryer and large laundry sink. Lifts/elevators are slow. The walk to Darling Harbour nightlife and eateries was about 750m through dirty dark car parks. It did the job but I wouldn't stay again.
Do not stay here. It is extremely noisy, the rooms face the hallway, and all you will hear is constant screaming, shouting and doors slamming from all floors of the hotel. It was extremely hard to get any sleep with the constant noise. Walls are also thin so you can hear everything from next door aswell as from above. Only good thing about the room is the size and kitchen, cleanliness definitely needs to be improved, the vents are blocked with dust and there was chewing gum on the wall.
Once we found were the parking was which took about 3 laps in Sydney traffic we were happy with the place. Had a great view from room and everything in the room like full kitchen and a laundry. Kids loved it so we will be back.Rooms: 4/5
Want to stay in a prison with authentic dirt? Well look no further than this hideously restored wool factory, complete with prison attitude. Love heights? Well the questionable walk way railings will have you on edge with action packed adrenaline especially if you have children. Want an authentic homeless experience? Well just step outside into the conveniently placed micro slum, perfect to get the true experience of being homeless actually really friendly people for the record. Aside from the above, some staff were very nice and the lifts worked. My review is based on this being sold as a luxury stay and 4 star. Would be acceptable as a 3 star and budget stay in my opinion. Anyway have a fantastic year everyone. experience things for yourself and make the most of what you get.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Cons: 1. The corridor between the rooms appears to be a scary, creepy area, similar to prison cells seen in movies. 2. The rooms are filthy, with cobwebs, dust, and biscuit crumbs on the floor, a stained kettle, a broken exhaust fan in the kitchen, and so on. 3. The induction stove had no indicators because it was already worn out. It took me 40 minutes to boil a kettle of water. When I called the receptionist, they advised me to turn the knob anti-clockwise for maximum heat. But, after waiting for 30 minutes, I requested that they send a service technician, who had no idea how it worked. He made a video call to his friend, who finally answered that it should be turned clockwise for max. heat. 3. My SIL was in Madame Tussauds and had a minor accident, resulting in a sprained leg. The hotel's disabled lift was not operational. 4. There is a clever concierge seated opposite the reception desk who will provide anti-tickle spray when asked for medication for a sprained leg. 4. There was a lot of noise from the adjacent rooms, making it difficult to sleep. 5. When I questioned why they didn't have basic medications on hand, the lady manager responded that they weren't running a hospital. 6. Rooms were very cold and had a weird odour. Pros: 1. When asked for extra vessels, they provided immediately. 2. When asked for any contacts for wheel chair, they provided a list of contacts. Overall staying there was a nightmare. 3. Good hot water supply in the washrooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and were very kind. The room wasn't the most amazing, our view was of an alley full of bins and a carpark, without any natural light coming in. The shower left something to be desired, it was very small and shower was at head hight for a smaller male. Good location however.Rooms: 1/5
More hostel than hotel. Dated rooms needing new carpet..stained...Good size. Functional kitchen. Clothes washer and dryer a bonus. Not really close to restaurants. Good budget family accom.Rooms: 3/5
The sauna was the highlight. It was the only thing that met our expectation. We booked the 2 apartments option which we were hoping would be connected to each other. They ended up being no where near each other. The customer service staff were unhelpful and each day when we asked if there were rooms closer to each other they said their supervisor is away so they can't help. We are a family of 4 and they would only give us 1 toilet roll at a time. It was so awkward having to keep asking for more tp during the week. The shower in the room was too small. I'm 5.7 and had to squat to get any water on my head. The shower head shot off during my husbands shower and water was shooting up to the ceiling and all over the walls. The plug fell apart when my 7 year old had a bath. There was only one small towel rail so there was nowhere to hang the wet togs to dry out between pool visits. The walls between the room were too thin. Whenever my 7 year old got upset, the neighbors would bang on the wall. The pool was nice though very cold but the spa was grotty and gave us a rash. The large bed was just two singles pushed together which had an awful lip in the middle that stuck out. The bathroom didn't have a fan so it became a steam room everytime anyone had a shower or used the dryer.
Had a room at the back of the building which was literally looking at the car park - could just about see the sky/sun when out on the balcony but not that pleasant to be out there. Room was nice although quite dark due to not much natural light - full kitchen, comfy bed and everything you need incl washing machine and dryer. No parking onsite and $45 to park in said building facing my room. Wouldn't have been happy if I had to walk from car to hotel in dark as a single woman. Not much around and it felt like it was in a bit of a isolated area Would not have classed it as 4 star - more like 3.
