First time playing at Oak Point the other week and genuinely enjoyed it. Had an 8am tee time and mid week, for $60 that is very reasonably priced. It's nice to see what is an accessible golf course to the average man have a driving range, even though you're maxed out to 170m it's still a very nice and simple touch. Thought the course had a really good layout, plenty of turns which made placement important and plenty of water to punish those hooks and slices.nWould like to have given 5 stars, however the course is currently under maintenance and all the bunkers are GUR.nThat being said, this really is an enjoyable course and when the maintenance is complete and the bunkers are in play its definitely worth playing and will be a gem of the South-West.nnEditnPlayed there again and the course is in great condition.nThe dryer weather has definitely helped and the bunkers are in great condition. Greens rolling pure and such a fun course to play.
Since the changeover from Liverpool Golf Club clearly improvements on course maintenance is a big plus.nnPlayed today with a large group of players and the course was surprisingly inviting & picturesque.nnThe greens were recently cored, unfortunately today they were furry and slower then I recall. Picking the correct pace from green to green was challengingnnClub house appears to be getting roof renovations blocking the car park. Hopefully renovations will be a great asset.nnSince my last review as above.nnThe course has been overpriced from its reasonable prices up some 50% for carts and greens fees.nnWhat was once a great accessible course to becoming overpriced for what the course actually offers is disappointing.
I’d heard the golf course was amazing so as I was nearby I decided to drop in for lunch. I decided on the pasta & meat balls with a red Shiraz wine as the price was more than reasonable at $25.nnWell it was very nice indeed as was the smiling service. I think the waiter’s name was Beyon and he served the meal in a timely manner with a friendly smile. It was a very pleasant experience sitting near the vast windowed dining area enjoying the meal & wine and the great view.
Course was in great condition despite the recent rain. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the pro shop had a great range of demo clubs and apparel. Really enjoyable experience overall.
Updated Review: Liverpool Golf Club has improved since I last played here over a year ago. Tee boxes are much better and the greens and fairways were excellent. Unfortunately, the recent wet weather has put all bunkers out of play and there’s lots of casual water around. Give it some time to recover and it should pose a better challenge.
