A little hard to locate the hotel from the light rail. Signs from the light rail station instruct you to walk to the carpark and then the signs in the hotel carpark instruct you through the length of the carpark to 2 lifts that were not working. This meant that we had to walk back through the carpark to walk 4 flights of stairs with our luggage. Once we had navigated our way to the hotel reception they were able to provide more clear directions on how to access a flight of stairs to a working lift back to the carpark and light rail. We were able to check in early and while we waited enjoyed the calm entry area and bar. The room we booked was facing the west however we must have been upgraded to a city view room. The room was nice, clean and a good size. All of the amenities you would expect with a clean and tidy bathroom, nice shower and bath and the bed was really comfy. The view from the window to the city is good however obstructed by the building site of a new skyscraper. Noise from the building site was ok but not ideal. There was a bowl and 2 glasses that were outside our door for the first 18 hours of our stay we ended up moving them ourselves as it was a bit off putting. Breakfast in the buffet was delightful with a great range and very calm. Check out was smooth. Over all it was a nice stay.
My stay at Novotel Sydney was an overall good experience, I was upgraded at the front desk, and the concierge were able to take care of our bags until we got back from the beach.nThe room was very dated, and I think if they were able to give the rooms some updates, such as new shower heads and repairing damaged tiles, it would be a much better experience. The body lotion was also run out, as they had them on the wall, instead of little bottles whihc is better for the environment.nThe room service was great, for what I got, the beds were CLEAN which is a must for me, and the view was ok from level 7.nI must say the staff at the front counter were REALLY friendly, and at the concierge desk, but general staff walking around were not too friendly.nWouldnt recommend this hotel for people looking for a quiet stay as there was often big families around, and people were running around making loud noises outside my room, which I didnt mind, but some people would.
My family of 5 2A, 3C stayed in 2 deluxe rooms. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the little cafe was also great for snacks and drinks. Our rooms were clean and tidy and the beds were super comfy. The bathrooms were a little dated but I found them fine even though normally I'm quite fussy. Would have loved bathrobes and for our rooms to be interconnecting rather than just next door. We liked being close to Darling Harbour and to the train station. Disappointed to not receive a welcome gift despite our Gold status but I didn't mention this to staff. Grateful for an early check in and late check out. Thank you for helping to return my Kindle that I had left behind.
The staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with everything you could possibly want. The only downside was the old fashioned step-in bathtub to shower in. Not a fan of that-bathroom does need updating.nOtherwise queen room good size, comfortable-located centrally for our needs. Would stay again.
Perfect place to stay and alot cheaper than many. Not directly on darling harbour, but you're a jump and a skip away and it gets you moving. Room was clean and roomy for a family of 4, the restaurant, cafe and bar area was really cool too. Great little pool and gym. You can't complain with the price point being significantly cheaper than others when we booked. We booked around our cruise, great choice.
