From the moment i walked in i was greeted with a smile and professionalism. The front office team were kind and helpful. The housekeeping team and food and beverage team were superb! Bed was comfy, shower pressure was perfect! Was nice to get up and go for a walk down by the lake and to be able to have a spa at the hotel.
Comfy bed and pillows, great staff and amenities. Room a bit tired with holes in the carpet and bathroom door had a lot of water damage. View was amazing however no free parking unless you manage to get a car park across the road or spend $15 a day for open parking. Spa had too much chlorine and burnt our eyes and no grate over suction hole in the bottom. Overall a good experience just needs a little updating
I stayed at Novotel Hotel Rotorua for a last-minute trip from Auckland to enjoy the hot springs. The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were rather old. I expected better from a well-known brand, yet the bed sheets had several mold spots and even some hair, which made me doubt if they were properly changed. I was also surprised that no toothbrush or toothpaste was provided—when I called to ask, they told me the hotel doesn’t supply them, which was disappointing for a hotel standard not a motel. Breakfast had limited options but was enough to get full. On the positive side, having access to the hot springs bath at night was definitely a highlight.
We had an amazing stay. The pre-arroval communication was fantastic. The service was amazing. The hotel is definitely old, and the rooms are in need for a refurb, but the location is hard to beat.nThe pool and spa pools were so beautiful and allowed us to check in and enjoy without needing to go anywhere.
The staff were super friendly. We loved the kid's playroom in the lobby. Such a nice touch and it proved super useful as multiple households traveling together. Our kids were occupied and happy while the adults waited for each other / worked out itineraries etc. The beds were very comfy. There was a bit of a faff with figuring out the parking situation. All in all, a solid 8.
