Absolutely shocking experience after providing negative rat test was made to sit outside and Dr Nawana came outside to consult after nearly an hour late for my poor sick child. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you don't want to see people because of respiratory issues then say so and don't work. I am also filing a formal complaint with medical board.
Used to be okay. Now not so much. Waited at least 50 mins past my 12pm appointment, no problem with that as these things happen. Had to catch an Uber there and back as I have a broken leg. It was known that the visit was my first with my GP after leaving hospital. Doctor didn’t even look at my leg, could not take a few stitches out and basically wasted my time, energy and money. Have to come back on Monday to have a nurse take the stitches out a week late and the Dr will pop in. No idea what’s happening in the near future. The poor level of care and professionalism left me upset and at a loss. A star each for the receptionists.
Left after about 30;years or so attendance. Found a bulk biller across the road. The Family Practice decided not to bulk bill even after the government increase in Medicare rebates for GP’s. This was even after the practice was urging folk to write to their local members with concern about the rebate levels.with claims that was the reason for ceasing bulk billing. But, no bulk billing after the increase! The almighty dollar!
I am not one to usually leave a negative review. I have been going to this practice for about a year. The medical staff are absolutely wonderful, especially Dr. Mishra and the nurses on site. Dr. Mishra always makes me feel welcome and heard when I attend my appointments. However, the lady who works at the reception has more than once come across as quite rude, and passive aggressive. It would really help if she was calmer and spoke with a more friendly tone, it would really help with asking questions and the over all booking experience at this practice. People want to feel comfortable calling their doctors. I will still attend this practice because of how lovely everyone else is.
I think with everything it depends on the doctor and day. We have seen Dr Sharon Moey a few times for my family including my daughter and she is really good. We don’t feel rushed which is a nice change as she takes the time to listen. The place is really outdated and needs a revamp but so do half the practices in Adelaide.
I have been seeing Dr. Hew since I came to Adelaide and she is amazing. I love her professionalism and highly recommend Dr. Hew.She has all the qualities of a good GP. However, there are certain things I think the clinic should seriously revamp. 1. The appointment system. There is no point booking a patient at a certain time and the patient doesn't get seen until an hour later. Worse still during super hot summer or cold winter when you have to sit outside rain or sun if you have respiratory symptoms. It is almost like the patient goes in sick but not that sick yet and the wait makes the patient even more sick. 2. The clinic should hire extra receptionists as the telephone hold can be terrible especially with the selection of music that you have to listen to, it can really trigger agitation or anxiety attack for patients with hypochondria. Should perhaps look into psychology of music if the clinic expects every caller to be hold for a long while. 3. There should be a time slot for telehealth and not asking the patient to wait anytime from morning till 5pm. This is only possible if the patient is not working. It is totally not helpful if all the patient need is a script for e.g. Vitamin D.
Absolutely Sickening experience with this Practice. Mental health issues that desperately required a repeat of Depression medication, they had a open booking but Doctor refused to see me. no prior history or anything So looks like i will go into the long weekend with no medication while being in an extremely dark place. Tried to explain this and was shown zero care or concern. Unbelievably disappointing in 2023.
My mum & sister have been seeing Dr Mencel and Dr Kajani here for many years. I also have two friends who see Dr Mencel. I’ve now been seeing her for a year, and so glad I found her and the practice. The reception staff know the regular patients by name and are very kind. The quality of care provided by Dr Mencel is second to none. She takes time to listen, is very thorough and you never feel rushed. She is highly knowledgeable in her care for me and my baby. My infant son was also immunised by a nurse here and she was fantastic. The 1 star reviews for this practice seem very at odds with my experiences and those of my friends and family.
The pre-appointment form asked only if I was experiencing respiratory symptoms, which I was not. At the appointment I got written off as having COVID before I even got to explain my symptoms, because I mentioned having an elevated temperature 24 hours earlier. The doctor moved me outdoors and completely stopped listening to what I was actually there to discuss. Instead she wrote a referral for a PCR, ended our appointment as quickly as possible and then still charged me for a double appointment. The reception staff member was rude and dismissive and spoke patronisingly to me when I asked her to explain the charges. Such an awful experience for my first time at a new practice, especially while already unwell - I don't recommend and won't be returning
I have experienced a number of surgeries in the past decade in Adelaide but I'm glad I found this one around 2 years ago and now my whole family is committed to it. The doctors here are really good and knowledgeable. They give you proper time for consultation rather than just flipping numbers to turnover their business. Unfortunately it means that there may be a bit of wait sometimes but they are generally on time. Getting the right diagnosis is really important and that can't happen in few minutes, like some of the other surgeries do. Highly recommend this family practice if you prefer right diagnosis over quick turnaround! Once you are a registered patient with them, they truly become your "Family Doctor" and look after you. The reception and nursing staff are also very helpful and go out of their way to suit your needs. Thank you Norwood FP for providing quality care when we need it.
