Story

Our History
It all began in 2003 when we first bought a pet store in Kilburn SA called Álan's Northside Pets. After a bit of cleaning and a quick name change to what we are now known Northside Pet Superstore it didn't take long to out grow that location. So we moved to a bigger and better site our current location in Hillcrest. A year and a half later our second store was opened with the purchase of Pets World on Grange Rd in Welland. That location had a full renovation and doubled in size to over 1000sqm in size.

As a company we continue to grow with the support of our loyal customers and staff. We look forward to provided South Australians with more choice and great prices. We continue to support independent local and interstate pet wholesales.

Northside Pet Superstore has been SA owned and operated since 1985. Our staff are highly trained, we have vet nurses, groomers, dog, cat, ferret and reptile breeders on hand to help our customers with the best advice in pet care. Our goal is to give our customers and their loved pets the most up to date information, great service and advice in South Australia

We adopted our sweet little lady in December last year then known as Candy now known as "CC". She has fitted in so well and is working on her relationship with Dash our senior man. Very happy with the process of adoption and of course our liitle girl.

Adopted a beautiful Kitten called Bess. She is a wonderful addition to our family. The staff are so nice and friendly... Great place for all your animal needs

Worst experience of my life. Not sure if this was the manager but I came in to adopt a cat and because I said that “maybe they should put on the website that you have to pay an extra $50 on top of the $250 adoption fee for pet food to let customers know and so they are prepared for the extra cost” she had a go at me and said “Fine I’m not selling you the cat if you are going to argue with me” and threw my money and ID on the counter in front of me. Honestly was very confused as I did not even argue with her or have an argumentative tone, I simply suggested as I was not prepared to spend $300 on a cat. Sorry but that lady was absolutely the rudest and the worst person I have ever encountered. I have never in my life had an experience leave me in tears

Grooming here is fantastic! After being rejected for being a large German Shepherd and no phone calls back from multiple other businesses we have finally found an amazing groomer here. Our boy always comes back so neat, tidy and fluffy after his washes and the groomers take great care with him. After having our first groomer complain about his ‘attitude’ and difficulty to wash, here he is relaxed, happy and such a good boy. Highly recommend!

Friendly, helpful staff who are pet owners themselves. So they will give you first hand advice and listen to your needs. Not pushy or insistent you buy a particular brand; only what's best for your pet! Highly recommended

Was annoyed when I rang my local pet shop where I have spent plenty of money.  I asked if there was any assistance for people in crisis and that I needed 3 days cat food till payday and could he help? He responded that I could surrender the cat. I just need 3 cans of food. I'm not  putting my cat down or giving it away. Was just asking for help.

Just had my cat groomed. She was in the cage so I didn’t really check before leaving. She is still super hairy and shedded badly. Apart from having a wash as she is still wet, I don’t know what has it been done. If it is not because of her previous grooming place is a bit far, I won’t choose this and I don’t think I will go back.

I was really impressed with the store. They had a great range of Bird products and the prices were excellent. I'd been to a few pet shops before visiting the store and the products I wanted were about 30% cheaper.  The store was lovely and clean and felt well looked after and well stocked.  However there weren't enough staff working and we spent quite awhile at the counter unserved and there was no acknowledgement or apology for the delay when we were eventually served.

Highly recommend the cat boarding facilities! My cat stayed here for two weeks and he came home happier and healthier looking than any other boarding I've ever sent him to. I like that they give each cat their own dedicated room rather than a small box with a shared play space, I feel this suited my cat's nervous personality much better - will definitely be using these services again!
