I have been coming to Northside Clinic for the better part of 10 years. I have found the reception, nurses and my GP to be the best I've seen in Victoria for LGBTQIA+ and general related issues. I feel very support and have and will continue to highly reccomend this practice.
Great clinic with an incredible team in my experience. Despite stressful circumstances over the last few years with medicare and COVID, the staff go above and beyond for their patients and community. A few of the doctors are particularly great like Dr Asiel Sanchez, Dr Natalia Rode and Dr Ruth McNair.
I used to love this doctor's clinic. I came across when they first started and I'd never been to a more caring clinic, from the doctor to reception. I've recently started going back and sadly they are now a generic money seeking clinic, with no care. I recently booked an appt in advance as I need to go in every 4 months and 2 months out they cancelled it and sent an email telling me to call and make another appt. When I went in for that standard appt which went over by 5 minutes I was charged $150 for a long consultation. At no point was this communicated by the doctor or reception staff. I now feel like the barcodes they have plastered every where to scan for this and scan for that. We are now just codes 5o give them money. What a shame. Look elsewhere, they just want your money.
I used to love Northside Clinic, been a patient for years, but honestly the reception staff are like cops, constantly policing everything. There is some amazing doctors that work there, and some amazing reception staff too, but the overall vibe of the clinic now is sterile, hostile and nasty. I am in a committed relationship with my partner of 5 years and they have on multiple occasions asked that I be able to book, pay fees, be a contact for them for a multitude of reasons, adhd and autism being a few, and yet every time I am told I cannot access info or pay, or cancel appts because I am not them and they will only speak to them. Do you do this with parents and their children? Or straight families? Because this just seems weird that you would consistently not allow me to do things on their behalf as their partner when they have given express permission on multiple occasions to allow me to. Looks like other people also have issues with how reception talk to them. If you hate your job, stop taking it out on sick people! Also read comments about fatphobic doctors, this has also been my experience. When I was first diagnosed with PCOS I was told by C Shepard to lose weight don’t eat carbs and go on the pill. At that time I went to her because one of the symptoms I noticed was unexplained weight gain, despite being in a very active job. I wish I knew then what I knew now, I probably wouldn’t have suffered so much with Pcos and endo symptoms if I had someone who didn’t put it down to “carbs”. I have 5 stars for our doctor though, she has been wonderful and amazing. Always made us feel seen and heard. The clinic needs more of this kind of human interaction and care.
I’m sorry but I just found out that my partner who has been going here for years, referred by family, is too scared to bring up any health issues with your staff. This is due to doctors saying any problems are due to weight. My partner is by no means obese, or at a level someone would expect joint issues. Yet, she feels she can’t talk to your Doctors about anything. She is in so much pain but doesn’t feel like she can go to her own doctor. I am appalled. I will be finding her a new clinic
This clinic has really gone down hill. Some great doctors and some average ones, but the reception staff have just become so rude. Don't expect a reply from their email. They've taken on too many patients and it's near impossible to get an appointment these days. They have started charging full fees for 2 minute tele-health appointments just to renew a script or get a medical certificate, when they used to bulk bill.
I really love my doctor, Kelvin Adams - super efficient and really thorough! The reception staff are really lovely as well!
I’m very happy about all services at North Side Clinic. All of them work hard everyday. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and admin staff, especially during the bad covid time. They put at risk their life for all of us and all of you should be proud of your amazing and professionals work. Unfortunately few people in admin aren’t very pleasant sometimes, but I am sure they are amazing too, just they should improve a little bit their skills in welcome to the clients. :-
Once an amazing clinic - however they have stopped bulk billing. The clinic is bureaucratic, unorganized and expensive - the reception stuff are clearly stressed and overworked. The doctors remain top quality, but the clinic as a whole, especially in service to a vulnerable community, is failing us at a time of rapidly rising costs. I can barely afford to come here, and my friends who are in much worse situations, simply cannot afford a so called LGBT specialist clinic. If we can't afford it, it's not for us.
Being overcharged to try and leave this clinic for another that will not discriminate againt me. It should not cost this much for them to transfer medical records to another gp
