I visited the restaurant with a group of nine women for lunch. Everyone really enjoyed the experience which is better than a usual pub menu. All food came out at once and a high standard. The atmosphere was great with white tablecloths and table trimmings to make a lovely dining experience. We are regulars at the Northern Star and the management are constantly trying to please their customers. Great value!
Came down from the Sunshine Coast in QLD. Seriously this has to be the best pub I've ever had the pleasure to come to. Food is absolutely amazing, beer prices are insane and the staff are like no other and trust me I've been to plenty. For all you people that are visiting or live here please go there, it's a place like no other. I'm sad to leave as I only wish I could take this place with me.
Table settings are beautiful. Specials were dearer than some of the meals. Some ingredients missing from sauces. Lack of staff meant one of us had to pick up our own meal after the other 3 were deliveredService: 3/5
Went for lunch. Service, food and atmosphere was excellent. Great value. Had the steak lunch special and glass of house wine thrown in for only $2.Service: 5/5
Had dinner here tonight. I had a chicken snitty. I have had worse, I have had better. The chips that came with it were lovely and fresh, the salad crunchy and fresh. This pub has a wonderful feel, I was told by a staff member the actual bar is dated in the 1880's. It was so nice to have silver cutlery, linen napkins. Bric-a-brac is wonderful and so much to look at. The entry gives you and idea on how warm and cosy it is inside. The public bar has a wonderful feel to it. How nice it to be seated in a pub, table service for both dinner and drinks. Music was good too! Would I go back? Yep.
Great well priced accomodation, warm environment & friendly staff. Our lunch was delicious. This place in and around local cafes, restaurants and craft beer bars. Would recommend.
Cosy venue with timber furnishings, $7 pints of guiness and an excellent food menu. You can't go wrong with this place!
We stayed there for a night. The reception was in a bottle shop. The toilet flush was leaking and the bathroom was messy. The bar is so loud over weekend that you cannot get a good night sleep before 2 AM. I would definitely not stay here ever again
No soundproofing at all. You cant sleep till the bar below closes. Never ever book if you dont plan to spend your night at bar. Moreso, if you have a young one. Not recommended at all
Good pub food. Dining area is nicely furnished and comfortable. Had a couple of Guinness on a bar stool watching Beaumont street go by. Will come back
