The only redeeming qualities of this train station apply to facilities located out of the station. The staircases make me sad, the toilets are either closed or occupied 24/7, and the risk of accidentally catching the port Kembla train is far too high. I do, however, greatly appreciate the bottle-o down the road and the uni shuttle bus.

My only complaint is that there could be more shelters as the train station can become somewhat of a wind tunnel.

It was understood that the wheelchair access wasn't available to us, however both the site and signage say to call for assistance - when I called to see if staff would help me get up the stairs instead, the only response was 'There's no staff on today.'nIt's Sunday and that's fine if the staffing isn't there - but we're from QLD and aren't familiar with the area at all. Any kind of suggestion or directions would have been amazing. Instead it took 2 cabs to get to Woollongong station to try and get to Sydney Airport before our flight. We didn't have $280 to get to Sydney Airport via cab so train was our only option and it's been a pretty 2-star experience thus far.

It's a nice station and the public toilets are always clean,it has wheelchair access also buses are right at bottom of stairs,very handy indeed.
