This station definitely has one of the best staion views of Melbourne city nnLittle history:nNorth Melbourne Station, opened in 1859, is one of Melbourne’s oldest train stations. Originally serving freight and regional lines, it became a key suburban hub. Over the years, it has undergone significant upgrades to accommodate growing passenger traffic.
North Melbourne is a large railway station with three main platforms. The platforms have undercover areas and are well lit. The Station gets extremely busy at times and there’s very little parking available nearby.
Near and clean station with 6 platforms with clear signage. The signs are clear and the display has clarity for passengers to know which platform to be at for their intended train. The train towards Craigisburn will stop at boardmeadows, change here to bus 901 to airport.
On 11 July 2022, 10:15 pm train from Flinders Street Station to Craigieburn - Cancelled due to some track faults.nResult: Passengers told to take other trains Upfield or Sunshine to North Melbourne station and were told to wait for Train replacement buses.nSituation: almost 200 passengers waiting for over 1 hour in freezing cold. Last lot of passengers picked up at 11:50pm after waiting for 1hour 20 minutes in mid-winter cold...!!!nStation staff and authorised officers are not helpful but rather arrogant and unapologetic. Also yelling on top of their voice on customers who are tired and just waiting for over an hour in cold winter midnight wanting to reach home.nNever experienced such pathetic customer service and service unreliability...!!!
Big train station in North Melbourne area very close to Docklands. Many connections in both directions and also small coffee shope available in here. Very bad mobile signal.
