6 of us spent 2 nights at Norfolks in two apartments. On the plus side, the location was perfect and the view was spectacular. There was a great deal of beach construction work that it would have been nice to know about. Staff were friendly. The room, however, was very subpar. Split system aircon in the two bedrooms, but no aircon in the main living area.....made for some very sticky days. There was a very dirty fan provided, but it didn't work. Beds were ok, but the two singles we ended up with were very cheap and not overly comfortable. The room was dated and needed a real good deep clean. Pots and pans were cheap and very used. Zero condiments except for salt and pepper grinders which were empty. Typical QLD plastic toilet seats and shower screen. Toilet roll holder was broken off the wall. Zero shower soap provided. Overall, nice but very rough around the edges.
Apartment #13 - Loved the location of this place and I would stay there again.nApartment was spacious, but could probably use a deep clean and some modernisation in some places throughout, for example the shower heads and tapware.nOther than that, I had a pleasant experience, found the ladies at the reception to be lovely and would recommend to friends
My review is a little biased... we have been staying at the Norfolks for over 20 years and we love it! We started going when our kids were little, it was perfect for us. Pool at the door, park and beach across the road. Small supermarket and bakery in easy walking distance, regular buses at the door. Now our kids are adults and we still all holiday there together. There are plenty of cafes/restaurants across the road and now we go for coffee and cocktails instead of lollies and ice creams
Apartments are privately owned by different people. So experience can vary. We were in 42 3bdr, 2 bath and it was much nicer than other apartments our friends we in. Furniture was nicer, renovated kitchen and bathrooms. Very happy with our stay and the location.
The apartment was very spacious but needed a good deep clean, you could see the dust around the tv cabinet and coffee table. The glass kitchen table was all smugged and dirty. No baking trays for the oven. There were renovations taking place, but we weren't told until we got an email the day before arriving. I'm not too happy about the 7am wake up from the tradies ripping up tiles.
