Story

Noble Rot is an exciting newcomer to the Wellington hospitality scene - a bar with an emphasis on handpicked wines harmoniously matched with delicious, seasonal food in an iconic Cuba precinct building. Its aim is to make wine interesting fun and accessible. Based at the newly renovated space on 6 Swan Lane off Cuba Street, it offers a haven for wine lovers, as well as keeping craft beer drinkers happy. A centrally located spot to meet, drink, eat and enjoy fantastic wine.

Had the 6 course degustation with my wife. Food was decent, the appetiser was amazing but the main fell a little flat. Savory desert was delicious but orange desert didn't taste great. The waitress was great, however the serving times were slow at nearly 30 mins between dishes.

The wine is superb and so is the food. The staff are friendly and super helpful! They really make you feel special!

A hidden little place in Swan Lane. Warm, cosy and welcoming on entering. Service was excellent. An amazing choice of wines by the glass and bottle. Modern food with great flavour. Thoroughly recommend visiting and try the Barolo!! I highly recommended this restaurant.

I’m no wine expert but as a resident from wine country - Barossa South Australia, living in NZ - in my modest opinion this is the best wine bar in NZ - a wine list that makes travelling anywhere else perhaps in the world a waste of time and money.  You’ve got it all at home you lucky kiwis xx

Second visit, just as good as the first. Our sommeliers wine knowledge and food match was fantastic. Well worth a visit, especially if you're into your wines!
