This was one of the best locations for Newcastle. It was right next to the beach and the complimentary parking was great for our road trip up the coast. Their was a slight motel smell to the hotel but as soon as you get to the room and open up a window or your balcony you get the great ocean air in. And honestly who spends that much time in the room. The staff was very accommodating as I was having trouble making calls on my phone to local restaurants and they allowed me to use reception even though it was against their policy.
We loved our recent experience at Noah's Restaurant.nYou just can't beat that amazing view and the delicious food we ate.nBest of all - the live pianist playing a baby grand was absolutely wonderful. He took requests and was such a talented musician. You really can't find that at any other restaurant in Newcastle.nnWe'll be back.
Dinner at Noah's Bar & Restaurant. Had an anniversary dinner there during the week. Were given a window seat and able to enjoy the view and watch dusk settle over Newcastle Beach. The food was excellent and the service generally good. We shared a first course and created a little bit of a mess moving food from the serving dish to our individual plates. Plates and cutlery were removed but no attempt to wipe down the table and so mains plates just put on top of the mess. Would have stayed for a dessert and coffee but no one came to clear the mains plates. The room was less than half full by this time so we left after waiting about 30 mins.
Location Location LocationnThe Oceanside facing rooms have a most superb outlook.nRooms are compact if having 3 people but comfortable all the same.nBathrooms renovated at some stage really nicely and are easy to get around.nFood on premises was nice and a boutique selection of wines on offer.nWe attended an extended family reunion and function on site also and this was a beautiful location and outlook highlighting a memorable day.
The hotel ticks all the boxes - exceptional location facing the beach and the Rock Pools, next door to the Lighthouse and the boardwalk; comfortable rooms with superb views - we got upgraded to a beach view room, and it was absolutely fantastic; friendly and helpful staff who absolutely made my day. Comfy beds, nicely designed bathroom, everything one might need readily available, even chairs for the balcony : Thank you very much, strongly recommend!nSmall note: it's a pity that there are no fly-screens, and with moths flying around, balcony doors need to be closed at night. But with the rains that might come in unexpectedly, perhaps that's to the best!
