Continues to make the best Japanese food in Sydney, bar none, at any price. Located in a modest site, the food is the thing. The wait for service used to be a bit random but for the last two or so years everything has arrived very promptly.

Ordered a large sashimi that was small for $30. My sons sashimi was missing from the order altogether! Instead of delivering it to us he had to drive back through a torrential storm to pick it up.Nothing offered to compensate their error.Shame as the quality of food is excellent.
Always enjoy ourselves at Ninja, one of favourite local restaurants. Staff always make our night enjoyable and food is beautiful...best Tempura! Bento boxes are a family favourite for take away.
I visited here with my husband and my daughter, we were celebrating her 5th birthday as she wanted sushi. I was left Absolutely violated and quite shaken after being threatened with the police from the owners and made to pay for a dish that was still being made in the kitchen 10 mins after we had finished our dinner. Not only were we the first in the restaurant we were still waiting for our mains after 4 other tables had been served first so had assumed the sushi dish had been forgotten. Sushi. Non cooked dish. The service was woefully slow and really bad. The owner threatened to call the police and got his phone to call them, he had the audacity to educate me and tell me that they are not MacDonalds who serve fast food when I refused to pay for a dish that wasn’t even finished by the time we were leaving. I was literally not allowed to leave without paying for the sushi. Held to ransom. Then told I would get 10% off but that didn’t happen. I was so upset I felt I had to write this review. Appalling customer service and treatment. They refused to let me pay the balance without the unmade sushi and wanted to argue in front of all their customers inside and waiting. So I caved in and paid as it was a Mexican stand off. I am so utterly disgusted with how they treated me as a customer.
Always enjoyed eating at Ninja Avalon, the host is very polite and always welcoming. Even though I am a regular, I scrutinise every dish I order and the joint has never let me down. The top dishes are Gyoza, the Tempura Prawn is cooked to perfection, Udon is good too but a special order, lady knows us and always says yes!! The Karaagefried chicken with mayo and salad is the best of all I have tried outside of Tokyo. Why you may ask, well, they slice chicken thigh skin-on and fry it so well your taste buds will thank me for it. This is Japanese at its best and most authentic! Its our regular jaunt for a reason.
Absolutely delighted. Very ordinary facade and I expected ordinary food. Food was fabulous, staff were attentive without being intrusive. Love the place!
Good food for reasonable prices. Kid friendly, casual atmosphere. Service was fine - Food came quickly... they just could have cleared away dishes more promptly as we always had a lot on the table.
