Lovely park in the middle of a busy city. Its not very big but it feels you are in the middle of the bush. Nice for a walk. Cannot take dogs.nPlayground nearby. Toilets are unisex and lots of male workers in the area utilise them, so I chose not to use them..
Beautiful to visit & get into nature. Makes you feel like you’ve escaped the city without actually having done so.nCar park onsite. To the left of the car park are restrooms & if you take a walk further up there’s a playground & you can walk your dogs on lead.nTo the right of the car park - the actual Newport Lake reserve, you cannot bring your dogs in for a walk. It is prohibited.nThere’s a great stepping stone path that crosses over the water. It is safe. My octogenarian mother with a walking stick was able to do it.nThere’s flat grass areas where groups have picnics.
A really nice little pocket of nature in the dense heart of suburbia.nnIt's a well looked after series of short walking tracks and a few nice seating and grass areas to enjoy a break from day to day drama. Very relaxed and easy going, and was a fascinating outing for our 2 year old.nnThe signage showing the lakes biodiversity overview was also really clever and a great addition; showing all of the common aquatic and waterway life and their food-chain relationship to each other balancing the health of the park.
Beautiful place to be. Wonderful atmosphere and wildlife. Would recommend for a serene and calm environment for walks. Bikes not allowed so would not recommend riding here. Stone bridge is incredibly calming and enjoyable. Beautiful mosaics found all over the shop which as an art enjoyer were incredible to see.
The Newport Lakes Reserve is an amazing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.nnThe serene atmosphere, surrounded by the beauty of sparkling lake and nature, provides a perfect setting for relaxation and refreshment.nnThe park is well-maintained and clean with a variety of walking trails, picnic & BBQ areas and toilet. It is great for family outings with lots of play space and play equipment for children to play safely and explore.nnThis is definitely a must-visit spot for nature lovers and those looking for a peaceful retreat.
