. (01/2018) The three New Zealand Parliament Buildings are interconnected and are covered together as part of guided Parliament tours. One of the must visit places in Wellington in my opinion. Amazing ambiance and interior with interesting details behind most of them. You have to surrender bags, phones, cameras, any food and electronic devices before exploring the buildings. There is wheelchair accessible entrance. Security checks are performed at the entrance. Lifts are available for those in need. The route is accessible to the people in wheelchairs. Good for groups, families and kids. Public restrooms are available including ones with wheelchair accessibility.

The New Zealand Parliament (Māori: Pāremata Aotearoa) is the legislature of New Zealand, consisting of the Queen of New Zealand (Queen-in-Parliament) and the New Zealand House of Representatives. The Queen is usually represented by a governor-general.[1] Before 1951, there was an upper chamber, the New Zealand Legislative Council. The Parliament was established in 1854 and is one of the oldest continuously functioning legislatures in the world.[2]

Lovely building. The free tour is a must - you get to see the best parts of the building, including the base isolaters used to make the building earthquake proof. You can also sit in on parliament, whilst it is in session.
