A superb new restaurant located in the heart of Subi. The environmentally friendly idea for chalk board menus to cut down on wasted paper was a pleasant touch. The restaurant is located on the main level, while upstairs is a sky bar which will be great once the weather starts to warm up! I'm not exaggerating by saying the customer service provided by the wait staff was probably the best of any restaurant in the Perth area. All servers were friendly, attentive and made great food/drink recommendations. The celeriac, brown butter and truffle was mouth watering. We also enjoyed the Octopus and beef ripeye, even though we thought the meat was cooked more medium rare than rare. The toasted davidson plum marshmallow is a must try for dessert! Also, the thyme ice cream was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
Friendly wait staff. Dusty, the manager, is so engaging and pleasant. Wonderful atmosphere, with an option to sit rooftop or at dining tables on ground floor. Wife loved the duck rilett with bread as a finger food. I had the bone marrow. Loved the concept that local produce is used as much as possible. Same applied to the beers and wines. Will bear in mind that the restaurant is so close to Subiaco train station and Domain stadium. A great venue to have a party and not have to worry about driving or parking. Now there is free weekend parking out front, courtesy of the city of Subiaco!
The dishes here are super creative and delicious, all the food and drinks are also locally sourced which is awesome!
One of the best restaurants in Perth! The new normal serves uniquely Western Australian themed cuisine and pairs it with an exceptional wine list. The staff also make this place special - in particularly the two female waiters, who are friendly, hilarious and knowledgeable at what they do. I would highly recommend coming here at some point - make sure you make a booking.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Beautiful decor. Great wine selection. This restaurant has been well thought out right down to the sourcing and utilisation of their ingredients. This place was buzzing on a weeknight! And since winning the 'WA Good Food' best new restaurant 2017, I'm glad I got in early!!! Kudos to the chef and management for an incredible experience.
high-quality food, top and very special local ingredients such as dune spinach. best "home-made" bread in Perth. Great service. Roof terrace also nice but different bar-food menu. our favorite was broccoli with wagyu fat and gremolata. the chocolate, passion fruit mousse and brownie was also great.
Wow what a fantastic restaurant! Exquisite food and taste sensations to share. Quaffable pinot noir and my partner had a pale ale! Attentive friendly staff and professional service. Spacious seating and rooftop bar upstairs. NEW Normal is now our favourite restaurant in Perth.
The menu was a little confusing at first, but once we got it, we had an amazing night. The owner was super friendly and provided some great recommendations for us as we were visiting from out of town. The food was great and so was the wine. Would 100% recommend.
Fantastic seasonal food, brilliant wine selection and friendly staff. My wife and I stumbled on this place after a show at the Regal Theater, we walked all around Subiaco looking for a vibrant and lively place for a drink and meal. We'll we hit the jackpot, the first thing I noticed about it was the open kitchen style where you can see the chefs cooking. When we entered we were greated by Rowan who was extremely helpful reserving two seats for dinner while we went to the rooftop bar upstairs for a pre dinner drink. We were lucky enough to be seated at the pass where we watched our food expertly prepared. I've been in the very fortunate position to travel for a year throughout France, Spain and Italy sampling some fantastic food and have commented that West Australia has not developed enough in its food culture to rival the food available overseas until now this place is a 10/10. Let's hope we see more places like this opening in the future.
Deliciously seasonal and locally-sourced menu that is ever changing and extremely tantalising! Dusty the restaurant manager is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and Darryl the bartender knows a good cocktail! A brilliant dining experience and a must-visit for those in Subiaco.
