We went to New Farm Fish Cafe to try the oyster omelette. We also got the dry spicy pork noodle and the bean curd. The consistency of the omelette was interesting and the sauce it was served with was also unique. I loved every element of this dish. The noodle and bean curd dishes were nice too. You order at the counter here, and you can find the menus here as well. On your way to the table, grab some cutlery and water for your table. The food will be served to your table. I felt the customer service to be courteous. If you haven't tried Taiwanese dishes, this is a good place to start that journey. I lalso love that this restaurant is so close to the city. We'll definitely return to try the prawn omelette amongst others.
Did not expect to find an authentic Taiwanese restaurant in New Farm. Affordable delicious food. I especially like the vermicelli with pork intestine, chicken with rice and the oyster omelette. The fried chicken fillet was good but it’s a bit dry. Will definitely come back again.
Amazing Taiwanese food - probably one of the best Taiwanese street food shops in Brisbane. Rice to protein ratio could improve a bit but the taste is nevertheless amazing. My favourite would be the oyster omelette
It’s a lovely cafe. Friendly service. We aimed for the Taiwanese street food there. Love their fried chicken fillet. It was full of flavor, very fresh and juicy. Pork mince on rice and Shredded Pork n Pickled Veggie Noodle Soup were delicious too. Vermiceli With Pork was about average. Stewed Chinese Cabbage was spoiled, it tasted a bit sour. The Taiwanese food there was a bit pricey. Our overall experience was not bad but I don’t think we will be going there for a regular basis.
Humble. Humble. Humble. Loved their humble looking place. I had a takeaway fish burger. Very simple, lettuce, tomato, fish and tartare sauce, that was it. Simple, simple, simple. Simply the best. A warm fresh bun, 4 chunky pieces of fish at least 150g, lettuce hangs off the bun, it was adorable. I took it to the park, sat under a tree, munched it with a beer. Towards the end of it, I was surrounded by numerous crows and noisy miners. They gave me nasty calls and flew off. By the way, the Cafe provides Taiwanese cuisine. Vegetarian options: Maybe a tofu dish. Kid-friendliness: A great place for kids to have snacks. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor Cafe.
Seemed like a proper local fish n chip shop but been living here a year before trying. Tonight was the night. So really looked forward to it. Two pieces of battered fish with chips. Looked good until we started eating. Fish was mushy and watery. Texture was almost like porridge and underdone. Seemed like it had been frozen for too long then thawed so lost any firmness. Was so bad we could not eat and just not worth the petrol to take it back. We will not be back. Sadly, the chips were good.
Ordered Uber eats yesterday -oyster omelette, thin noodle and fried chicken and I believe I got food poisoning either from oyster or noodle. It tasted good when and ate them but horrible experience the next morning still sick in bed. Unfortunately I won’t return due to food safety.
Fish cafe selling Taiwanese food? Your first thought would be that it’s a weird combination and wouldn’t expect it in New Farm of all places but wow …… the dishes is one of the most authentic food that I’ve tasted outside of Taiwan. Highly recommended if you enjoy deep fried chicken fillet or oyster omelette. Service however from one of the staff is non existent. I don’t think she spoke a single word while serving us the entire time.
Nice Taiwanese street foods. Price is a bit too high but quality of food has improved over the past years! Well done, keep up the good work
Thanks to Ada the owner for hosting my church dinner event. Everyone had a blast and loved the food here. My partner and I tried Barra and chips, pig intestines n vermicelli, oyster omelette my favorite version in Brisbane, spicy pork noodle yummy as and the oil is needed to keep the fish slick. Every thing was on point.. Could not fault it! My tawainese friend who tried their chicken cutlet said he miss home a lot after eating it. That's how good the food is. Service was quick and organized. If you are visiting new farm park n after something different.. This is the place and the prices are very reasonable.
