I was looking for a replacement cistern lid for a caroma venecia toilet. I went to reece plumbing and the lady said she couldn't help me as they don't sell these replacements. Instead she said I would have to buy a whole new cistern for $325.00. I went to see North Coast Plumbing and asked the same question. The staff person was very helpful, disappeared for 5 minutes and came back with the lid I needed - all for $25.00!! Very happy and impressed by the great service! Their showroom was also very nice and tidy, I would definitely go there to buy more stuff! Keep up the good work!

My Caroma toilet cistern was continually running into the bowl and I realized I needed to replace the seal at the bottom of the outlet valve. I bought a red genuine Caroma seal from the parts counter at NCP Plumbing. The guy who served me was obviously having a bad day as I explained that I had a spare red one at home that didn't work. I took along a black seal from the other cistern at home and explained that the red one didn't stop the leak but the black one did. The guy was extremely short with me and said that the red one he had was the only Caroma seal and there was nothing more he could do. When I tried to explain that I had a problem I needed help with and surely plumbers have come across this problem in the past, he was very dismissive, said I had been told and there was nothing more he could do. Ok. I decided to go home and try it again as it must be the way I was fitting it or some other basic mistake I was making. After trying multiple ways to fit the seal, it still had a slow continuous leak. I returned the next day and in a courteous and humble way, reinstated my problem. It was worse than the previous day. The same guy jumped down my throat and was totally dismissive. I again said the black seal seemed to work as I interchanged it in the different cisterns at home with success and did he have any black more flexible seals. He threw a loose black one on the counter and said " you can try this two bob one". I asked if this was a Caroma seal and why is it a two bob seal. He got really annoyed and said the red seal should work. I went to the front counter and asked to speak to a plumber as I knew that this had to be a problem seen before. The manager listened to my explanation and directed me to another guy in the parts area who had been a plumber. This guy actually listened to me, explained a few pitfalls and checks and basically tried hard to fix my problem. After showing him the more flexible black seal he agreed that there was a possibility the red seal may be too hard and it would be worth a try with the black one. I told the other parts guy that he was rude, unhelpful and a jerk. He said if I felt that way then complain to his boss. I did what he suggested. I just couldn't understand how a guy in a position to supply expert help could be so unhelpful. It seemed he held me in contempt because I was a guy just off the street and not the usual tradies who buy from NCP. ????????? It's got me. Anyway, I went home, fitted the black seal and it was perfect. Great job and I was happy with fixing my problem but wow did I have to go through two visits, experience a rude and arrogant, emotional unintelligent, unhelpful human being when I was desperate for some expert assistance for such a simple task.

Here is my review of NCP plumbing supplies. Bought 2 lots of popular size 90mm stormwater pipe, a total of 56 metres in the last couple of weeks, and I came back to buy more, but was advised that there was an additional cutting charge this time. I did not purchase but was annoyed that the cutting charge was going to make it a lot more expensive than competitors and was dismayed as its my local store. Well I just received a personalised email from the manager, advising me that the cutting charge did not apply to the lengths i was purchasing and the error was a staff mis-communication error. He apologised and even went as far to offer the difference if I had purchased somewhere else. Now that's customer service!!
Just FYI, NCP is cheaper than Reece with NCP @ $2.77 pm & Reece at $3.81 pm for 90mm Stormwater in 6mtr lengths with bell ends
