So I have a bit of mixed feelings about Nathan Homestead. It's a bit of an art gallery with a coffee shop inside, set in a great garden The garden is lovely! There are benches, green lawns, beautiful flowers, and a playground for kids ‍‍‍‍ The gallery itself has many empty rooms, and sparse exhibitions. If you go for the art, it does leave wanting . If you're in the area, then do drop in, for a walk in the garden and some good coffee, but definitely don't make the effort to go You can hire the halls, rooms, and gardens for events and weddings. It makes a stunning backdrop. They often have community functions, and markets, which should be interesting to attend
Very peaceful place and it will give a typical feeling like Bali and the view is great. The staff was very friendly.
What a wonderful community gallery and cultural centre. Fantastic selection of spaces for exhibitions, meetings and parties. Highly recommended. Elliott Collins's exhibition was a standout presentation.
Gorgeous gem in Manurewa conveniently located by the Motorway although you hear no noise from it. We hire the Theatre for events and find it suits our needs admirably with plenty of space both inside and out and ample restrooms. The cafe can cater your events or guests can pop in for a great coffee. A true treasure too often forgotten by those of us who reside in Manurewa.
You should come now the youth Jazz orchestra is so great ,music is as should be Youth should be supported and encouraged xx
Viewing as possible wedding venue. Beautiful place and would be perfect if you could guarantee an outdoor wedding! The indoor option is a small conference-like room that doesn't really fit with the rest of the building, it's a shame. I highly recommend any LOTR fans to visit the gardens - it's the main reason for considering it as a venue.
We recently had a larger function at the homestead. I have been there many times before for several smaller meetings and always loved the atmosphere of the place and the history it displays so well. I can only recommend this venue to anyone looking for room hire, private as well as business functions. You will not be disappointed.
I hired this place out and as an educated person I asked what the need to have security was for, not only did I pay $90 for a security guard to sit on his phone smoking the whole time on sight !!! Where you are meant to be smoke free but yet we were told we aren't allowed to smoke on the premises ! Vick the guy who I spoke with originally was so rude and condencending that I had lodged a formal complaint with the council because of it he said to me he doesn't know why it's there and he doesn't know when it came in and replied to me " was that all" maybe you need to be educated on the rules and policies under the council before you are employed ! Secondly he came To the event to lock up and started arguing with all my guests instead of speaking to the host personally, he thought he was the greatest thing to lose all you were there to do was lock the venue your job is not that glamourous to stand there and argue with people. He had no right to do that especially because the only thing left to take out was the DJ set who he actually hurt himself before the event finished and we had to attend to him. Seriously this guy should not be allowed to liaise with clients ! He genuinely ruined the mood of our night !
Lovely property with a long history. The venue can be hired and is a great place for weddings and other celebrations. Limited parking and street access can be tricky when the road is busy.
Afternoon of Jazz, Wait for ice cream was rewarded . delicious. Who would have known about the Nathan family /lion breweries connection. A great community asset
