It’s almost 6 months since I got to eat Chinese food, so I was in high spirits. Overall, the dinner was great. I highly recommend the salted egg yolks fried pumpkins. It’s beyond delicious. The tofu pot was good too, especially when you ate with rice. On the other hand, the “Char Siu” was quite disappointing, the pork was too fat but the meat was a bit chewy rather than juicy and tender.
It is one of my favorite restaurants. The most distinctive feature is the roast duck, which has crispy skin and fragrant meat, and is beautifully presented! It can be said that the dishes here are made very carefully, and they can capture the characteristics of the ingredients and pay attention to the embellishment details in the process of serving. Each dish has a different taste and shape. Dining here is a taste and visual enjoyment!
Craving for Chinese cuisine after a week in Adelaide and bonafide foodie friends who have stayed in Adelaide for decades recommended me this place. We had their Peking duck, special tofu, steamed chicken and salted egg pumpkin. They were all good.
My family have been attending the original Muntin restaurant for decades now, and over time the quality and quantity of the food has deteriorated with different management. We attended recently after previously being Yum Yum, and we won’t go back. The prices are outrageously expensive, including the alcohol. $15 for a 150ml glass of wine! The meal portions have decreased also, so you are not getting value for money. Our prawn and vegetable dish was almost $30 with 9 prawns in it for 3 people! Even the steamed rice wasn’t light and fluffy, around $5pp for RICE!! I don’t recommend, this place has sadly gone downhill more and more as time goes on, with a decrease in quality and quantity. I counted 4 staff on the floor not all needed and two kitchen staff outside the kitchen playing cards on a Thursday night. They should have less staff employed and then the cost saving can go into the food for the customers! I don’t recommend unless you don’t mind being ripped off. Will be interesting to see how long Nan Yuan lasts.
Top notch food with very warm and welcoming hospitality. Its not often you get great service from an asian restaurant.nMy personal favourite would be the Braised Pork Belly, just beautiful flavours and very filling.
