Dishes were ok, not great. Not horrible. Seemed busy with mainly locals when we were there. Decent portions and well priced. Would like to revisit in a better weather. Wind and rain was a little intense when we’re dined. The mushrooms were the highlight.
The food was pretty average, definitely overpriced. Portions were okay. The location in quite nice but seating it limited. The menu is also limited and basic. The atmosphere is relaxed but seems disorganised. The staff are nice but a little slow. Toilets and takeaway are avalible. Nice coffee. Quick service. Overall wouldn't recommend other than for a quick lunch.

Salt and pepper mushrooms - yum! Best banana bread ever! Great spot overlooking river. I don't usually leave reviews but I have to acknowledge the owners honesty and integrity when I inadvertently left my wallet behind with quite a bit of cash. I got it back the next day - all intact. Thank you. So grateful
Always love this place! a nice little gem in the beautiful town of Nambucca. great seating especially outside facing the river and good food and service. Separate ramp at entrance for wheelchair and prams too. Ample space outside the restaurant and located just next to the Nambucca board walk in case one just wants to grab coffee and head outside on a beautiful day! Boat and fishing gear on hire next door too. Good care taken this time for contact tracing and also sanitisers available at reception.

Good coffee, a great cafe right on the water's edge.
We hired a tinny here with a canopy, the service was friendly and helpful, my husband and I were given clear instructions for how to drive the boat, where to safely manoeuvre the waters and buoys of Nambucca River. I felt reassured, it was my first time on a tinny. We had 2 hrs for $80. We had a blast.
Great spot right on the Nambucca river. Had lunch here at The Boatshed cafe today 04/01/2023 ordered 2 of The Calamundi which was grilled Barramundi and crumbed calamari with salad. Both meals came out together and one had 3 pieces of calamari on top of fish and the other had 2 pieces, I thought that’s ok as long as it tastes good. We’ll the Barramundi was “Mullet” my wife said it’s mullet before I even said anything. We buy Mullet regularly and we know it’s distinctive flavour. It was definitely Mullet. The meal was nice and tasty just not what was ordered and paid for. I mentioned this to the head waitress and she said it’s Barramundi. I do come here every couple of months and looks like it may have new owners, if so they won’t last long if they think their customers are stupid. Just a heads up to everyone. I like mullet but it’s not what I was expecting.
Went in for a coffee, had a problem getting a table & when we did, it wasn't cleaned. I had to clean it . After all that, the coffee wasn't great. The view was "soothing" but the location wasn't a "Go Too" stop.
