Nice place to visit. They are in their early stage to develop and express “Brissie-ism” so currently displaying some history and artworks of historical significances. Speaking with the staff who are super helpful and friendly, I believe there are many new things to come live at this museum. At the moment, it doesn’t take much time to see all the artworks so I recommend to visit if you will combine this with the Clock Tower Tour and/or the Hall Tour. It’s good to see some history and work in progress. I really look forward to seeing more at this Museum as well as things around the city.
The Brisbane Museum is a great place to visit and check on new exhibitions, some of them are really interesting and different from an average exhibition you could find on another museum. The thing i liked the most is that you and your kids can interact with them! AND ITS FREE!!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely information about Brisbane, it's formation and also their main attractions so if you're a lost tourist that doesn't know what to explore, this isn't a bad way to start! The rooms are small, only one floor, and can probably be done in under an hour. It's free and the staff are nice, there's also clock tower tours that you can book for free that leave every 15 minutes. I'd recommend booking in the morning to get the best slots available.
Located inside the Brisbane City Hall. Didn't come here by intention. Just wandering around and found out there is a museum inside the city hall and decided to check it out. The entrance is free, no ticket is required to visit. But you need to lock your bag in the locker. Surprisingly the museum seems fun. A lot of things to discover. If you spend more time on it there is a lot of fun stuff. Too bad I was in a hurry so just a quick tour. The staff are all very friendly and nice. Don't feel shy to ask for help. Overall it is a great place to discover.
Nothing much to see. Has a little bit of history about the building, Brisbane's founding, and pre arrival information, but it's mainly focused on showcasing local artists & thier social programs. The click tower tour is enjoyable & worth the time. Book ahead, they have lots of no shows for tours, but if you haven't booked, you can't jump in a vacated spot. Architecture is fascinating and worth exploring.
What a hidden gem in Brisbane for tourists and locals. Highly recommend a visit for all types. Great for adults and kids. Recommend doing the clock tower tour to go up and get a great view of Brisbane. Definitely pre-book the Free tickets in advance the day before. The art exhibits were great too.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
We did the MOB and was great to look over the history and the past of this beautiful city. We were also lucky enough to do the clock tower tour! That was a brilliant experience... from hoping in an elevator from the 1940s to being almost at the top of the clock looking over the city square and further abroad. Parking was $16 from the day.weekend rates and wasn't so far to walk to the entrance of the MOB. So beautiful inside, have to see for yourself. We were also lucky enough to see a beehive that apparently only comes once a year to this particular outside wall and the kids loved watching them fly all over the place.windows were all locked shut.
Located in level 3 of Brisbane city hall building, museum of Brisbane is a great place to explore in the cbd especially in a rainy cold day. Super neat and clean with magnificent interior design and architecture. Free to entry to museum with lots of gallery and projects. Free lockers to use too. Lovely and helpful staffs, great services. They provide free tour guide for the city mall 45 mins and free clock tower tour 15 mins too. You should book ahead for those tours through museum of brisbane website to avoid waiting time. Can easily spend couple of hours exploring this great place. Highly recommended!
A must visit museum in Brisbane. The most surprising things are the clay/pottery displays and paintings. The ppl are very welcoming. You have to store you backpacks or purse before entering. Also, they elevator to the clocktower is right next to the museum.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Really loved the current installations upstairs. So nice to see some local art and colourful, interactive exhibitions. Will definitely be back!
