This education center used to be very crowded and busiest place, now its very dull, as the plant goes shut down, But someone who is interested, still can visit and go through learning, as its very significant movement in energy history, Well you have plenty of car parking, and dont know how long it will last opening, So please call the front desk before you plan to visit, My best suggestion is show them to your little ones, as its important in learning.
Kids loved seeing the old dredge on display after asking me how the open cut mine was made I thought I'd show them
Nice and quiet, plenty of space to park. Good access by road.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Nice views, upkeep on the grounds needs a seeing to.
Was closed when we dropped by and looks like it's closed the majority of the time sadly but good information out the front on power stations
Looks to be closed indefinitely. No signs or notices on their website to say closed. Would have been nice to know before driving over an hour to get here. We sat in the carpark and had a picnic, and walked around it with the kids, and 4 other cars came and went in the meantime. I'm only writing this post to save other people their time, and hopefully Powerworks see this and update their website.
I happened to turn up on a day when it was closed without realising it. I walked in, and was “greeted” with an aggressive “Oi, where do you think you’re going?”. I asked a few questions and he just continued to be quite rude. I understand that it’s a private concern, but I was quite disturbed by the hostility I faced.
Fun place for children to learn about electricity production and the history of Latrobe valley. Cheap entry and beautiful grounds to have a picnic or use the free electric BBQ's which are the cleanest I've ever seen. Informative staff can answer any questions you have, good informative tour and non-biased information on electricity generation.
Quite interesting with interactive play for the kids
Compation.. Empathy..Ethics .Moral Values..And a Under standing would not be words to describe your practice ..staff at reception are quite polite your only asset I WILL be going elsewhere ..Lost in the Wilderness
