Best Korean food in Melbourne with wide variety of banchan side dishes. The fried chicken, jjajangmyeon and cold noodles during the warmer months are our top favourites. We always get the banchan & soups from the freezer to take away too.nnThank you Arum for your warm hospitality & service always
I recently visited Mumchan and had a delightful experience. The Korean fried chicken was perfectly cooked with a crispy coating and deliciously seasoned with a flavorful sweet and chili sauce. However, I felt that the portions of radish and coleslaw were a bit small. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely recommend trying their delicious fried chicken
This small Korean restaurant is situated along with other retail shops and restaurants in Laverton but not actually in the city center. With only roughly 15 seats inside, expect queue during rush hours. The menu is straightforward and not extensive, so we opted for black bean noodles, Bibimbap and Korean fried chicken. The black bean noodles were a little too soft and the sauce was not as tasty as other shops. The Bibimbap and fried chicken were decent. i was very hopeful of this being my new korean spot but i was utterly disappointed by the food.nnwe ordered the jjajangmyun and fried chicken bone in. in another review they stated that the jjajang noodles were too soft and not so flavourful and i would have to agree. if you love your noodles al dente and the burst of umami flavour that jjajang brings, this isn't it. the chicken was even more disappointing because it was fried perfectly crispy and juicy but the taste... it tasted like old burnt oil.nnit made me feel sick how greasy tasting it was without it not actually being oily, i stepped outside for fresh air and came back to only smell the restaurant full of old oil smell.nnthe pros was that the service was great, very kind! the food is also pretty affordable in todays economy, and my favourite thing about the restaurant is that they have prepackaged banchans and meals.nni would love to say i will give this place another try for other things but we'll see.
We recently had catering provided by Mumchan at our workplace, The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Everyone especially raved about the fried chicken, which disappeared in no time. Thank you, Mumchan, for your professional service and mouth-watering dishes. We can't wait to order from you again!
