Never had any issues as I have been a customer for years on and off in the region. The store have an internal policy which is misleading following the policy in the website. The store did not want to give me a refund on I item I have returned without use as mentioned on the website all other stores in the region has a much better approach on this situation. Simply will never spend my time in this store anymore.
Recently, I purchased the 2021 Salomon Shift Pro 110 Women's Ski Boot from MT Outdoors, located on Dunmore Street in Wanaka. The team at MT Outdoors was incredibly helpful and helped me to find the best ski boot suited to my foot shape, skiing preferences and budget. Steve the owner and his team are very friendly and knowledgeable about outdoor adventure sports, including skiing, climbing, backcountry touring and mountaineering. My boots were heat molded for free and I was very happy with my experience; I have skied plenty of days in these boots and they are the comfiest and most responsive boot I've ever owned. I would definitely recommend MT Outdoors to others who are looking for quality outdoor adventure gear.
Sadly had a rude encounter with one of the staff members at Mt Outdoors she was wearing a Maruia springs logo vest. I unfortunately could not bring myself to purchase my ordered item due to the way she handled a very minor situation that could have been easily resolved if she did not speak in such a disrespectful manor in front of other customers in the store.

I have been there couple of times. Firs of all.. really nice equipment, good brands, lot of variety stuff, probably best climbing and mountaineering shop in town. But be prepare that the stuff is a bit late compare to Europe according to skimo stuff. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with behavior of the probably boss or owner. Tree times he was very unpleasant. He probably realized that I am not the type of the customer who would spend there hundreds of dollars at a time. That is true I am not. I am a person how would like to watch the thing and taking the time before buy. I do not feel very comfortable there. PS: the girls there are super helpful and nice but I do not want to support this company where I did not feel well.
Great equipment for hire, especially compared to their competitors up the street... Prices are reasonable, and the staff was fabulous--including the presumed owner, who got a bad rap in a review below! They exchanged our equipment during the hire period without question to meet the changing snow conditions. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
Staff walk the talk. Super knowlegable and experienced. You get much more than what you pay for.
The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the gear we hired from them was top notch. They were super busy when we turned up and they still managed to help everyone out. We will definitely hire from them again!
Great customer service, knowledgeable staff and well priced. I only popped in to get a replacement buckle. The guy even put it on for me.
Helpful staff and the only place to rent climbing shoes in town. Selection is a bit limited for buying of rock shoes though which is fair enough seeing as how specific the sizing is
