Proper trading post where you can almost imagine horses tied up outside while travellers stock up on provisions and check for mail. Most people go for the cafe, but it's also a post office and stocks local wines in addition to basic groceries. Quiches, pies and homemade tomato sauce very good.
The food is always good but unless you are a local, the heads of the place are not the most friendly. We felt hurried out when we had our coffees. My coffee and spoon taken away before I had time to put sugar in my husband's take away. They are also quite expensive.
The tastiest bacon quiche I've ever had - so soft and flaky and uniquely filled with chutney at the bottom! Coffee blend was also very strong and delicious. However 4 stars because the lady making the food was using her hands without gloves to handle the food which just isn't okay during a pandemic.
The food was good but cold service without smile. Actually the shop looks nice. Unfortunately the staff were not friendly. No greeting no smile no patience... So even the food was fine I think I wouldn't come back again.
The photos are of Mt Macedon, a very short drive from The Trading Post. During The Rona l have to say their social distancing setup was excellent. Their service and food was excellent as always. Always a pleasure.
Nice place, nice food. Had a table outside, down the side in shade on a 32' C day. It was very nice, cool breeze. Good service.
Good coffee and good food. If you're heading up the hill or to the gardens stop here for your takeaway lunch. They also sell bits and pieces that are good for gifts or to keep yourself.
Quaint café attached to the post office and general store. Nice variety of delicious food and great choice of beverages.
Just perfect. Simply love this joint that's what the old boy calls our home. Fascinating range of delicious books are the icing on everything else and the postal service is outstanding. Thank you team!
