Passion. Determination. Talent. Three words to describe chef/owner Ferdi Salvana!

Ferdi migrated from the Philippines to Victoria at ten years old. Classically French trained, with over 27 year’s experience, he has also worked alongside great Asian chefs, such as James Tan (from The Duck at Crown Casino, Melbourne).

Mr Soy Boy takes the best from a variety of Asian cultures and uses fresh, local ingredients and housemade sauces to provide customers the delights of unique modern asian cuisine.

Catering for customer’s preferences of chilli and other dietary requests (just ask) means you can sit back and relax, smell the aromas and ready your taste buds!

Food was delicious. Everyone loved their meals. Service was fantastic. Will definitely come back!
Finally I found a place that really knows how to cook karaage. Last place I went, sushi express was absolutely terrible but Mr soy boy is right on the money and the service is the best in cairns. I went back last night for bulgogi and also had waffles and ice cream which was tasty also.
It was disappointing. They didn't updated their trading hours on Google. It stated OPEN when we rushed there. They were CLOSED until the 5 Jan 2021. Hope this information help for those ppls who would like to go there during this period.
