We arrived 10 minutes before closure of kitchen, but were seated beautifully by the staff, though outside. We had our lunch and ordered portions were great. Even the kid has had cheese cake. Weather was pleasant therefore we enjoyed our food. Fritters and other burgers are tasty and innovative. We plan to revisit with more time to spend there.
Benedict and wild mushrooms are both phenomenally delicious. Orange cake had great balance of acidity and sweetness. It is definitely a flavour bomb with their long black coffee. Super restaurant and really made our day.
Reading upon so many great reviews my partner and I were expecting a fairly great experience. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for our food, pulled pork dish was bland and our poached eggs were fully cooked. However on the bright side customer service was great food was very well presented and price is reasonable.
Mr. Cafe in Macedon is the ultimate brunch spot to visit while you’re visiting Macedon Ranges in Victoria We visited this cafe in a nice sunny day in autumn a little while ago and it was really busy, full house with customers waiting patiently outside. We ordered: Mediterranian Smash Avo with fennel & chilli pork sausage additional option Mexican Benedict with Braised Beef Belgian Waffle BLT bagel Golden Glow Smoothie Green Machine Smoothie Matcha Latte The dishes were all presented beautifully and with lots of vibrant colours. We loved the smashed avo with the added pork sausage. I particularly loved that delicious sausage The Mexican Benny was the most beautiful and most vibrant dish of all the dishes we had! Absolutely stunning. The overall flavours perhaps could use a little more sweetness on the braised beef to balance out the sourness from the pickled cabbage, the salsa verde and the lime. Their BLT bagel was simple yet delish. Perfect for a quick grab to go meal or if you just want something not too heavy. The Belgian waffle was indeed a sweet and delicious ending to our lovely brunch. We love their smoothies too! Stunning presentation, refreshing and had good balance of sweetness and acidity. Attentive and reasonably fast service, given the very busy day they had on our visit. Definitely a must visit cafe if you’re in the area.
Recent reviews seem so mixed but we chose it on the strength of the more positive reviews. We were not disappointed at all. Positives: - great flavours from our mushroom and kale on toast, smoked salmon bagel and waffle with berries - friendly and fast service with a smile - cool music in a modern yet cosy setting Negatives: - the washroom - the portion for the mushrooms and kale on toast might be considered small by some but we left satisfied, not bursting - I only had one stomach
Great coffee! One of the best we've had. Yummy eggs on toast with side of hollandaise. Thank you. Friendly staff. Family friendly. Will return.
If you're looking for an authentic Macedonian dining experience, Mr. Cafe Macedon is not the place for you. The prices are on par with what you'd find in Melbourne, but the quality of the food and service is far inferior. The knives they provide are ridiculously dull, making it difficult to even cut bread. And be careful not to accidently spill your coffee, because the tables are coated with a sticky varnish that will make your plate and cup adhere to the surface. Overall, I had a very unpleasant experience and will not be returning.
Awesome little café with great food and coffee. Check it out if you're in Mt Macedon area. Friendly staff and good service. Recommended!
We came here last May for breakfast when visiting Macedon. The place was nice & warm, and the staff was friendly. We ordered the Mediterranean smashed avo goat cheese, poached eggs, beetroot hummus, dukkah, seeds on toasted sourdough and the Cuban benedict pulled pork on sweet potato rosti, poached eggs, beetroot hollandaise. We loved the food and the way it was presented, as well as the coffee. I highly recommend it if you are in the area or passing by.
Loved the food. The staff was really kind. We stopped here on our way to hanging rock. Must try spot for breakfast.
