The staff are the friendliest, most helpful people- and will happily help find just about any book. Plus the other services- computers, clubs, kids readings etc. are great. A true community centre - and it works because there’s always a group of people sitting together somewhere in the library.

My family went for the first time today to get membership. Staff was really kind, friendly and supportive. They did register us in the system and also gave detailed briefing about the library network and their services.nnMake sure you bring identity documents such as driving licence, Medicare cards or passports to get membership.
The best public library in Melbourne.nFirst of all should thank the staff, as they are incredibly helpful and friendly all the time. This place not only has the finest collection of books in English as well as in Sinhala, but also offers so much more. The collection is constantly updated with new books quicker than at a bookstore. It's great that they've extended the loan period to 4 weeks! Great initiative to promote reading, as finding time to read a book can be challenging in today's fast-paced world. They also offer a Library app that allows you to easily browse through their online collection, which includes audio books as well. Being near the metro station not only makes it convenient for us, also it is the safest place for our kids waiting to be picked up. So they could spend that time meaningfully by either immersing themselves in a good book or focusing on their homework.. Love you library.
