Fantastic experience and a true slice of outback history. The tour of the one-of-a-kind underground hospital is very unique! Combined with the museum house and all the artifacts it contains, it paints a solid picture of what life was like in wartime Australia. A must visit when in Mount Isa!
Rated for its uniqueness and heritage status, the underground hospital has to be seen. The rest of the tour takes you back to life in the early days of living in the new mining town of Mt.Isa, in the 1920-30’s, to the 50’s. A blast from the past when you can wander through an original tent house and the old birthing suite/hospital.
Not to be missed. What a great slice of history run by competent volunteers. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
I don't do tourist things much but I loved this! The guided tour really put a flair into an already interesting structure. Without giving away the ending, I got goosebumps. The guide was really good at what she does. Highly recommend.
Great to visit and learn about some history in Mount Isa. The guide was very good.
