So LOVED the meal here hats off to the Chef!!! We ordered various plates to share: Beef Cigars, Slider Combo, Trio of dips, Prawns and Watermelon Salad, Plain Garlic Bread and Cheesy Garlic Bread. If I were to come again I would order everything again and get extra Watermelon Salad, exchange the Beef Cigar for Tempura Prawn and exchange the plain Garlic for Cheesy Garlic. Our best choice was the Prawn and Watermelon Salad. We all had never had never tasted this before...it was so delicious. The food was excellent for our budget. It probably could've fed 5 people. The cost came to $98.30 and we couldn't eat the rest of our food but were able to take it home. We paid to see the band, and they were Primo too. What I didn't like: it was too small a venue and was mainly standing onlyno room to put our wine bottles or glasses on We stayed all night by bar. Later on the Restaurant was opened for event BUT only a handful of people sat in there. Perhaps there could be a screen to watch the band could be an idea? The bar staff were very friendly, patient and courteous to all their patrons. I noticed there was a person in a wheelchair and throughout the night he could only hear the band. My advice next time if you are going to watch any band here, is be one of the first to arrive to get a good position.
Hadn’t been here for more than a year due to the declining quality of the meals. Giving the Mount Henry another go was a big mistake. Worst pub meal I’ve ever had. Sandwich at home would have been more satisfying.
Stumbled upon this as it came up with steak specials on a Wednesday night. Was a good meal with great service. Nice little back area with a fireplace too.
Have had a weekday lunch there twice in the past month. The lunch specials are outstanding value for the serve that you receive. Lovely staff and good pub food.
We had a great meal at the Mt Henry Tavern on Saturday night! The food was delicious! I had the steak and chips, and the garlic sauce was AMAZING! What’s even better is it was a great spot for the kids too. They got a kids pack and a free ice cream with their meals. I didn’t feel rushed whatsoever which seems to be the norm nowadays everywhere else where there are time limits in place, there wasn’t a limit here. If anything, the room we sat in was missing a bit of music for some ambiance. But overall, we loved the family friendly environment and nice staff, tasty food. Will definitely be back.
Went for Monday lunch. They had a surprise 150 people turn up and said 40 minute wait for food. The food was out in 30, the steak was perfectly cooked, great price. The sports bar squid and chips was delicious and didn't have that overly oily taste to it, lightly battered. Drinks and meals were great prices, especially for the area. $9.5 for a wildflower Chardonnay, $10 beers, $13.90 for squid and chips.
Excellent Sundays roast lunch, we have had both the beef and turkey with all the trimmings, it is one of our favorite Sundays lunch place. Staff is super friendly, but booking is essential. We have been many times and we'll be going many more times.
After having discovered Mt Henry Tavern abou 6 months ago and have been at least 8 times and loved ALL our meals except for one person who I think is in charge of the food area. She is very rude and obnoxious with it seems every one she seems to deal with. We persevered because the food,was normally so great but today all our meals were disgusting! The roast was cold and the meat was so tough I couldn’t eat it and we were all the same. I ordered dessert because I was still hungry and paid $10 for what was the smallest piece of cake possible! The other staff were extremely lovely and helpful but that didn’t make up for everything else!
Service was quite poor, they were under the pump and customer service suffers by the pressure obviously, the lady was quite harsh and almost unfriendly , visibility stressed out which made me as customer feeling a bit uncomfortable to ask for anything. Food was good, not overwhelming but not bad either, one meal came cold sadly including the fries and meat and sauce. Price and size is fair.
My family and I throughly enjoyed the NYE 80s themed event for 2022! 6ix played fantastic music, the food was amazing and the service from all staff was amazing too! Great value for money with tickets only $35 to include the main meal and a drink! Absolutely recommend the event to everyone to try! We will be back!
