An awesome place to live out your astronomical fantasies! Superb for children and families, look out for the public viewing nights held each month. Get in early they book out fast! Even better become a member and attend the weekly (+more) meetings and special events. View the observable universe through one of the club's many telescopes including the 18" beauty under the historic dome!

What an amazing place. Had a private session, the whole procedure of organizing this was faultless. Great customer service and support. We got there and was welcomed by Paul and Merv. So knowledable and easy to understand. I'd recommend the observatory to anyone and everyone especially kids.

I have just returned home from a Scout activity with my 6 year old son at Mount Burnett Observatory and I am absolutely appalled at the way the presenter dealt with the group and in particular how she spoke to my son. She was rude and lacked interpersonal skills. She has no ability to build rapport with the children and came across as a grumpy, miserable, disinterested old lady. My son is a fairly outspoken kid but always shows respect and is polite. He can also at times like to make a joke which is what he did tonight when he suggested to her that we "just get started". She verbally attacked him, belittling him in front of the 60+ kids and adults in the room. She told him he was rude and that if he continued acting like that he would miss out on the activity and have to stay inside. The whole room was stunned in silence. It was evident that most people were as shocked as I was by her attack. I did not make a scene in front of the children and waited a minute or so when people were distracted to approach her and tell her what I thought. I told her she should never speak to my son like that again that she was the one who was being rude. She did not respond and I returned back to my seat. My son was initially upset but fortunately he is pretty resilient and got past it. I dread to think what damage she could have made if she did this to a child more sensitive than my son.
