Beautiful views out across York and surrounds. Would be a great spot to see all the canola fields too but we were about a week late.
Just out of town, up Steere Road near the cemetery, you find Mt Brown lookout. I was lucky enough to be there on a warm spring day and the views were wide-ranging and beautiful, with the town directly below and the Avon Valley and farmlands stretching away into the distance
Amazing view. Kinda chilly and windy when we went there. Nice place to have picnic and enjoy the view. Disappointing some peeps leaving rubbish behind.
This lookout is perfect for a family outing or exploring new areas. Late winter/early Spring is probably the best time as you'll catch glimpses of the popping yellow Canola fields catching your interest in the distance. Good photo opportunities to

Breath taking view as you walk up the steps. Offers a wide degree of views and has a little lower car park and picnic stop.
The motorcycle ride from Perth to York was amazing. This lookout is pretty nice with open views. There is plenty of parking available. You can bring your kids and family to this place. Make sure to pack some sandwiches and drinks when you decide to come here as there is a bench that you can sit on and enjoy your food. I am giving three stars as I have seen much better views.
Great spot to get a panoramic view of the Avon Valley and the town of York. Plenty of parking, this is the start point of several mountain bike downhill runs. Good fun.
So easy to drive up to... fab view once there... and a great place from which to get a good understanding of York/Darling Scarp terrain
Went during late August period, were able to see some patches of canola flowers blooming atop the lookout. Nice scenic view with a decent hiking trail.
