Morris Jones is both a restaurant that serves contemporary Australian cuisine by Head Chef Matthew Butcher and a cocktail bar with a large lush rear garden courtyard in our 1887 landmark warehouse building.

Morris Jones’ philosophy encourages enjoying modern adventurous food, exquisite cocktails and sumptuous wine, but most importantly great and memorable times with friends.

Overall 3 but definitely extra star for the staff who helped me excecuting a lil candle on my sweet serve. Thank you very much Loved Dumplings , oldfashioned, Jalapeno Slipper and Dessert choc crumble specefically. The overall ambience was great Pinkster spiritz could not taste alchohol at all, was more like a mocktails- this particular order we did during happy hours so taste might be compensated, i dont know. Chicken was too salty for my taste. Not sure the recepi does have so much salt in it or prepared by mistake like that. The ambience wins for sure. It feels great and welcoming when you enter.
Had a lovely lunch, they were very accommodating with the dietary requirements and service was great. They even were happy to take lots of photos for us too x
Sip and Sushi is a great experience. Price is very reasonable for all the food and drink you can order : cockails and sushi are standard, nothing special, but still a good price for all you get!
Decided to spend quite a lot on a 'booth' package for my partners and I birthday. What a waste of money.. We were presented with a long table and for what we paid it was inadequate. I spent majority of the night asking other people in the venue to get off the table - most were fine with this after I explained to them it was paid for by us as a pre booking. However, a situation occurred where the security had to get involved and he ended up taking the side of the people who were harassing us because we wouldn't let them sit on our table.. I tried explaining the situation to the security guard and he wouldn't have a bar of it, only later to see him flirting and acting overly nice with the other party of people, even though they were in the wrong. They were clearly very drunk and aggressive toward me and my friend. Nothing was done about that behaviour and they continued to harass us and say horrible things in us passing them. At this stage I was ignored by the security guard. We had to walk past them each time to go from the bar back to the table. I have worked in bars and venues for the past 10 years and I understand how hard it can be to control bad behaviours. However, it was clear to see who was in the wrong and security literally did nothing about it. I will not return to this venue. I absolutely do not recommend Morris Jones for a big party of people for any celebration, whether it be drinks or dinner.
I had a Hens bottomless brunch here and the service was excellent. The floral decor was beautiful as photo backdrop and everything was perfect! The staff were so attentive, constantly refilling the food and drink. They were even kind enough to store and serve the cake without a cakeage fee!
Been to many venues all over Melbourne including the most sophisticated. But first time been refused entry do to having a visible tattoo! For a place that attempts to be classy/sophisticated, management can implement better judgment been impartial in there decisions.
Terrible service and huge wait times to be served at the bar. Went for a friends birthday and after waiting around 20 minutes for a drink, one of the bar staff accidentally dropped a drink before it even reached my friends hands. Was rude and demanded we pay for a new one, even though he was the one who dropped it and we had not touched it. When bar staff spill or drop drinks in other venues they will replace it straight away with no issue, this was not the case at Morris jones. We left while still having money left on our TAB card. Disappointing night, especially while being here celebrating a special occasion.
I reserved a table here to watch the AFL Grand Final after Morris Jones advertised on their socials that they would be showing the game. They had multiple TVs placed downstairs. However, they seated us upstairs where there was no TV or any view of the TVs downstairs. When I asked to be moved downstairs, I was told that there was no seating available even though there was plenty at the time. There was a lack of care from the service staff and an all round poor experience for something which was booked and paid for in advance. Can't recommend this place. Wouldn't go back.
went to the sip & sushi bottomless brunch with a group of people and found the service was really bad. We had to wait 45 minutes for a drink and in the 2 hours that we were there we only got 3 drinks. The food was good but the service needs to be improved.
Have been countless times over the years but hugely disappointed for the last visit. Every year I take my adult daughter on her birthday, it's become our special ritual. The food was inedible, the ambience non existent and when the issues of the sashimi stinking and tasting suspicious were raised, we were schooled in Japanese cuisine, despite our reassuarance we regularly eat raw fish. All in all, a huge waste of money, will never be back again and have already begun to discourage friends and family that do
