Very disappointing level of communication, care, service and support from administration, I would not recommend. I have since enrolled my daughter in another local school and have been treated exceptionally well by the administrational staff and in a prompt and inviting manner were the enrolment process and entry interview with the Deputy Principle happened all within a 3 day window.
School itself is not terrible, it's more my experience as a student. I got a marker thrown at me, and was backhanded to the head by an English teacher who claimed it was ok to do this because she used to be a drama teacher. The bathrooms are often closed due to vandalism and when they are open, many students vape in them during breaks and in between classes. A lot of bullying goes on in the school, and teachers don't recognise the behavior or do anything about it when they see it. The only reason this is two stars and not one is because of the few good teachers Mr Francis carries this. PLEASE think twice and talk to some students before sending your children here.
I did relief work for 9 days in October 2022, teaching Chinese and Japanese. The most impressive was the support from the teaching and admin staff and the friendliness of the students. Teachers of the language faculty were knowledgeable and professional, working very hard to cater for the needs of all students. The teacher I replaced for those 9 days had left detailed and well-planned lesson plans. I did yard duties and attended a Year 9 assembly. I felt the teachers really cared about the students' wellbeing and their future careers.
I would like to address a concerning issue within Morley Senior High School that has been affecting the overall school experience. While I generally have positive thoughts about the school, it is crucial to highlight a significant concern regarding bullying, particularly involving a student named Liam Toomey. Bullying is a serious issue that should be taken seriously in any educational institution. It not only impacts the victims but also affects the school's atmosphere as a whole. Morley Senior High School should be a place where all students feel safe and supported in their educational journey. Liam Toomey's involvement in bullying has caused distress among students, parents, and staff members. Addressing this issue is paramount to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for every student. Bullying can have lasting emotional and psychological effects on victims and can disrupt their ability to focus on their studies. I encourage the school administration to take immediate and effective measures to address this issue. This may include conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations against Liam Toomey, implementing comprehensive anti-bullying programs, and providing support and counseling to both victims and the alleged bully.
Former student, unless you want your child to be traumatized and abused for the rest their life, wouldn't recommend.
I have been to 3 schools. The best school by far 10/10. Teachers are awesome especially the Great Alan White.
I know this isn't related to a review but if any of you go to the school and knew a kid named Mars who went to that school please reply immediately!
Good School, Lots of good choices of classes and of-course a good majority of both useful and kind staff to speak to in case you have any problems during the time of education there such as picking up your grades or bullying within the school or home. Lovely place for a start in life and glad i chose this one.
As a student, I had some bad experience with the staff especially the school's deputy principal, Denise Robinson. In year 12, the year where most of the ATAR students struggles a lot, she was extremely inconsiderate to the students who were mentally and physically exhausted and plus we were having a pandemic. I was clearly doing so bad in one of my atar as I didn't have enough time to focus on it but Denise Robinson, the school deputy principal didn't let me to drop it and told me I should have known when I was choosing my atar subjects. I went to talk to Denise Robinson about dropping an atar subject for three times but she never let me dropp it. She also slammed a door infront of the student who was crying and having a mental breakdown. Very sad as it took an email to the Department of Education to let them know what the students were truly experiencing in the school. I would give zero star rating but some of the students were lovely and they deserve a star
