Decided to try some local restaurants and found out this small Japanese restaurant. Went there as they have 4.3 ratings from hundreds reviews also with the affordable price from what we saw in the internet. The interior was okay. Nothing special. Only 5 tables available Just knew that they are going to move out due to end of lease. Prices are totally different. Hasnt been updated in the internet. Pretty dissapointed with that as we came for their affordable price. Food was so good! Food portion for the bento set was a bit small for me. Not much meat portion and rice. BUT the taste was so goodd! WORTH IT. Sushi was really good for $23, 10 pieces and pretty big. Had the chance to talk to the owner, and she was so friendly. Will definitely come back when they are re-opened
Went here for a Japanese dinner and the food was so fresh and delicious. Tempura was so light, the sashimi was delicious and the teriyaki chicken was amazing. We even had a bottle of sake which was a really good palate cleanser and complimented the meal really well. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Recommended when in Glebe.
We went at 3pm on Sunday and it's quite empty at this time. Serving is quite fast. We had the Premium Buffet @ $49pp Standard Buffet is $39pp. Ordered 2 plates of assorted sashimi and 3 plates of salmon sashimi. Sashimi came in thick cut and quite decent portion. Thanks for the nice and fresh king fish sashimi . Sushi platter is decent as well. Inside-out Sushi rolls on the other hand the toppings are very small and lots of rice. Hope to see some improvement in our next visit.
It was definitely great experience. Sushi and Sashimi was so fresh almost could swim. My boy friend said the Best sushi ever he had in Sydney, also venue looks clean as well and its reasonable price. All staffs are very kind especially Stella was very nice.
We arrived for lunch on Saturday at 1pm after stopping at the Glebe markets. There was only 1 other table at that time and we ordered 1 chicken katsu bento and 1 teriyaki salmon don. At first glance food looks tasty and good value as servings were large. Food ended up being averagein taste and a bit too greasy for my liking. The tempura coating for the lunch box was really thick and greasy and not that appetising. The salmon don had a very sweet sauce and the salmon pieces tasted pre cooked. The salmon pieces did not flake like you would expect presumedly it was precooked earlier hence it was very stuff still like a chunk of woodchip. Overall giving them a 3 star because some aspects were edible, but there were others not so.
Mori has been my go to place for sushi in Sydney. Mainly, due to the all you can eat offer, where they offer everything on the menu except the sashimi and wagyu for $29.50 only. I love the prawn tempura and the grilled salmon sushi. The gyoza is also good but they have that in veg only. They serve hot pots for two with generous portion. Friendly staff and great food with amazing price.
Our favourite casual japanese restaurant in sydney! Sushi is amazing and service is great - love love love the sashimi don. Hit up this place at lunch for $10 donburi! And on Monday and Thursday they have $4 beers. BYO too.
Food took quite some time since they only have a few staff. We got the premium all you can eat option. Quality is mostly ok, nothing special but nothing terrible, with a few highlights: Highly recommend the fried prawn in chilli sauce. The sashimi was good. I learned that cold sake tastes horrible, but hot sake is delish. Or maybe it’s just that way here... Oh they have buy 2 get 1 free sake on Wednesday I think. We got a sukiyaki hotpot and was very disappointed at the size... It wouldn’t be enough for even 1 person. But it’s all you can eat so meh. All in all, a decent all you can eat sushi place for when you’re craving Japanese stuff.
If they sell proper sushi. The price is cheep enough. But The rice for the sushi wasnt seasoned, so no flavor. Sliced raw fish was really small. The balance of raw fish and rice was too awful. I was full and bad feelings. I was confused that I went there for eating rice or sushi. Someone can be satisfied with the sushi by price not taste. But I recommend people to go to some other place.
It is okay to have Japanese food in here but they provide too much rice in every sushi rolls or nigiri. It's minimum $35 for 'all you can eat' buffet but I wouldn't recommend if you don't like eating too much rice. This place is more like all you can eat "rice", rather than enjoying eating fishes like sashimi or nigiri. Also the tuna nigiri wasn't fresh at all. You can see some photos FYI.
