The fresh seafood market is clean, well organised, with a good selection of seafood, and the prices are reasonable. On the other hand, the restaurant seems to struggle a bit during rush hours, the sizes of the fish portions are not consistent, and they usually misplace order items. The Easter weekend and the weekend before, we ordered the octopus with plum sauce, but sadly the plum sauce got replaced by tomato sauce, which is not a great match for grilled octopus. Also, during the Easter weekend we took the order home and after unpacking we discovered the salmon was replaced with some random fish fillet.
Looking for a nice fish shop then this is the place. So much variety to choose from. I went on a Tuesday mid afternoon and ordered grilled flathead, chips, salad, fresh peeled prawns and a drink. Food was tasty but the chips were stone cold and rubbery. Advised a staff member but all I got was " I'll inform the staff". No apologie or anything- bit disappointing to be honest Great view of all the fishing trawlers
It’s been a while since driving up from Brisbane, and Morgan’s takeaway has had a bit of a makeover. A fantastic covered eating area, very family friendly with waterfront views and very dog friendly. Typical cooked seafood takeaway menu cooked fresh. Top tip is that locals pop into adjacent Morgan’s fresh seafood for cold prawns, then order the cooked takeaway. Highly recommended for day trip, interstate or overseas visitors. All of Scarborough is worth a visit but this peninsula and boat harbour well worth a stop over.
Very busy, however surprisingly quick feed! Brilliant selection of seafood and fresh!! We regularly visit when there's a craving for seafood. If you can get a table overlooking the marina even betterA
Incredibly fresh, top shelf seafood with trawlers from the Bay docked just outside. Both the fish & chips and fresh seafood market were delightful and fresh, with lovely outdoor seating area and a small kiosk/bar for drinks etc. It does get very popular during mealtimes with both dine-in and takeaway orders flooding in, even during the week, so a little patience is required. Of course you can grab a bag of king prawns and enjoy the nice weather on the table while your order is made.
I was really excited for a chip burger but the roll I ordered was stale so I had to throw it away. I was also handed a hot ice tea. Seems as though the staff don’t really care about quality. Despite this, the service was fast. But my meal ended up being average. Gravy would be a nice addition to the menu.
There is a huge variety of seafood to pick from. They even has a lady that cooks Japanese rice and seafood dishes as well. The serving portion is medium. I ordered the battered mussels that tasted really watered down couldnt taste the saltiness from the mussels. Food is a little pricey. But I think it goes with the experience to eat from Morgan's. The outside area to eat from is very spacious and a nice view of the trawlers.
Real fresh seafood omg yum, yea it has hard to find a fish and chip shop thats actually fresh seafood. lovely service too, beef burger was amazing too will return for sure
Great view to enjoy your seafood, friendly service and the food is great. If you want a proper fish and chips experience, no better to have it then at Morgans. Next time I'm having a beer with my seafood.
I like the environment, we were eating food and watching the sea. About the food: fried scallops, calamari and fresh oysters were nice, the fish were so so, the cover wasn’t crispy, too soft Tuesday lunch time, it was busy, we were waiting at least 15mins to get order. The fish market was nice there are a lot of different kind of seafood!
