I have been coming to Moorabbin train station since the 1980's and it has not changed!! Avoid the bathroom though they too haven't changed since the 1980's!!! 27.3.22 Getting train to city and what was coming the other way an old timey steamtrain!! How awesome, lots of people there to greet it and seeing those old red rattler carriages I remember not only riding in them but opening the doors while the train was moving and even jumping out of doors while the train was moving. Good grief! 31.7 midnight place deserted, spooky....but with husband so didn't feel unsafe. Though of course would on own. When waiting for train in freezing weather wait in warm laundrette if you can. Very daggy station. But like other reviewers have said it is opposite some great food/drink places, Toast It, Minnie Miny Mo, Wilbury and Sons, Grape and Grain on one side and on the other a great new Thai restaurant. While perfect access to events at Kingston Arts Centre.
Well any of the times I have come here from the early to late 2000's I didn't mind it all. There's some about station in the architecture structure-like way that it feels different to other stations and it's design may of paved way for other future stations to follow Moorabbin but improve on it as well. When I came here 2009, the place did have a little tuck-like shop for buying foodstuffs, not sure if it's there anymore now. For a train station it's fine and it's good see that it still looks the same with it centre walkway ramp as well.
