Moonlit Sanctuary is a beautiful place to have an intimate experience with Australia's native animals. Being able to hand feed and pet the kangaroos and wallabies is fantastic! The facilities are excellent and very clean. The staff ans keepers friendly and informative. The prices for entry are very reasonable as are the animal encounters. The food is quite expensive but you are able to bring your own food, there is a BBQ to use and an under cover with many picnic tables. We love visiting this Sanctuary
Will pick this every time over a traditional zoo. Stunning native Australian nature and native wildlife on show, lots of different native flora and fauna. Accessible with wheelchair friendly path they can be wet/muddy due to weather and toilets that are updated and clean. Staff are very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Cafe has a decent range of food and drinks, very limited vegan options though. A must come and see if you're a nature/animal lover, easily spend 2+ hours. Playground: No real play equipment but logs and nature things on a large grassed area with shade available Restrooms: Unisex restrooms, clean and tidy. Baby change room and wheelchair accessible toilet available Picnic area: Benches with shade and some tables, solid wood/log.
I came here twice, and each time it was a similar experience. The place is not as big as you'd think, and they don't have a lot of animals, but the ones they have are either rescues or animals only found in Victoria. The highlights of the place are the kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas, as there are plenty of them. Kangaroos are very friendly and come close to people, so you will get the chance to feed them, so buy the food when you book. One is more than enough for two people. The koalas are very cute, and depending on the time of day, you might find them sleeping or walking around. There are plenty of birds walking around the park and swimming. They will follow you for food! The sanctuary holds talks and shows at specific times. The cafe inside sells great burgers and fries! It's a great place for families with kids. Wear boots in winter as the place gets muddy. Get your tickets online. It can take between 1 and 2 hours to complete the experience.
Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park is an amazing place to visit. The park offers a unique opportunity to observe and learn about some of Australia’s most fascinating wildlife. The park staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they provide a wealth of information about the animals and the conservation efforts taking place. The park is very well-maintained, and the animal enclosures are spacious and comfortable. The park also offers a wide variety of educational programs, from interactive talks to guided tours. I highly recommend visiting Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a great day out in nature.
Amazing experience! All the wonderful animals are active and super friendly. Very much a close and personal experience with both the animals as well as the guides. Our guide was equally engaging throughout. Great passion and knowledge. Definitely something everyone should do. It's NIGHT and day difference. Thank you!!
Moonlit Sanctuary is now our go to place when we have overseas visitors. There are great animals to see and the staff are so knowledgeable. We heard so much about the Tasmanian devil and kangaroo just from incidental chars with staff. Everyone loves the koala and wallabies here and feeding them is so much fun. We found later in the day was great for the wallabies after they had a rest. My daughter and our visitors were captivated by this experience.
From the moment we walked in, it was evident that this is a very special place! Every team member we came across at Moonlit Sanctuary had a lovely smile and a willingness to engage in great conversation about all they have to share. It is very clear that all creatures great and small are cared for at the highest level. All their coats were as shiny as can be and they all seamed to have a lovely sense of calm. Well done to all that make this such a magical place. We will definitely be back again :
Great place for a day out, especially recommend checking out the 11am show which showcases a lot of the animals very up close! We bought the food for the kangaroos and wallabies and it was well worth it as we were able to use all of it to feed them and get really up close. I would definitely buy tickets online so you don't need to wait in line and are easily able to get in quickly.
Loved it! Amazing place with wombats, tassie devils, kangaroo and joeys, wallabies, koalas, dingos, emus and a laughing kookaburra! Beautiful natural-like surroundings and was able to feed the animals! The park wasn't huge and made for a quick visit. Great, rewarding visit for us travelers from Canada hoping for an Aussie experience!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
I had a great time here. They look taken very good care of the animals, you can see so many kangurus, wombat, emu, and Koala's. I especially love the petting koala experience! It's an unforgettable experience. I came here as part of my tour, it's a bit unreachable by public transport.
