5 stars for the free flow of self serve side dishes! Really friendly staff and the food came relatively quick. Everything was delicious and this will not be my last visit. Crispy chicken and spicy soup, perfect food in a cold weather. Well done!
It's been a few years since I've been here and the renovations make the place look amazing. The staff were so lovely and the food came out quick. We ordered: - Soy garlic half chicken : quite a big portion for just half a chicken. The batter was so crispy and the meat was juicy and tender. -Topokki : spicy and a great entree. - Seafood pancake: I loved taste of this. Lightly fried and the pancake itself is thick with a generous variety of seafood. - Cold noodle : flavour was good but was quite dry, there was no soup making it hard to eat - Beef bulgogi and Spicy pork bulgogi: so tender and the sauce infused so well into the meat. - Grilled fish: usually don't eat fish but the mackerel was so soft and sweet. There was so fishy taste. - Jokbal and bossam set: the pork was so tender and paired well with the cabbage, sauce and garlic. - Mango rice wine: loved the sweetness and how well it was blended. The initial mango taste was so fragrant and sweet.
After tasting some Korean fried chicken out there, Mookji is considered as one of the best so far. I rate this which based on the crunchiness and the sauce taste. However, I feel there is an inconsistency in the cooking as I have had the same menu within these two months. Couple of months ago I had the best smoked garlic soy chicken, yet last night it tasted differently. I could taste the sweet and umaminess with a generous amount of sauce. Yet last night, salty was overpower the taste. I would say it was sill good, but I would prefer the previous one. Despite above matter, all others were okay. The snow chicken, pancake, and of course the bulgogi squid were amazing.
Best kimchi jiggle I've ever had in aus! Wished they do a beef platter or daepae instead of samgyeobsal. The cut of the pork was was too thick n fatty for our likings. Chicken stayed crispy aft a long time The beef in Yukhoe bibimbap was too frozen. Highly rec the og fried chix n kimchi jiggle THE BEST
ORDERED: Beef Bibimbap: Mixing rice in a bowl with five different types of vegetables, beef and an egg $18.00 Army stew: Contains cheese, ramen, kimchi, bean, ham, sausage, onion, carrot, green onion and tofu $45.00 REVIEW: First time I've been, even when they've rebranded. It's decent quality korean food, but considering the quality of korean food in melbourne is high, it just fades into the masses. I do like how there's an unlimited sides bar, so you can fill it up with as much marinated bean sprouts as your heart desires! Along with radish too. It's a place in melbourne you can walk in, and have seats. It's nice that way, but not something I'd write home about. Just comfortable, Korean food that's decent quality.
Great as always. Sadly menu has shrunk again. Quality is still great and seemingly better due to the smaller menu. The kfc is always good and the Samgtye tang is something i woulf recommened when you are feeling under the weather. Today 01/08/22 i had Spicy beef spare rib, it was served with rice and is delicious, abit spicy and very hearty and filling The dumplings are great as a starter or side. Will continue to go to Mook ji bar as i have for a long time
Incredible incredible incredible!! absolutely loved this place : Wish I could give more than 5 stars. We’ve ordered Truffle Mushroom Bibimbap, Braised Pork Belly, and Eggplant, Amazing vegan dish but also satisfying for a non vegan like me.
Food amazing. Customer service amazing. I've been coming here for a while before lockdowns. First time back since lockdown lifted and definitely didn't disappoint. Highly recommended. Should try the spicy beef ribs, the seafood pancake and the Korean bbq pork belly.
Great Korean restaurant in Melbourne City. The grilled meat, Kimchi Stew were very tasty. And I love their service.Food: 5/5
New menu post lock down. Went for our favourite gamchatang, but no longer on the menu. Decided to give the set dinner menus a try. The side dishes were delicious and on point. All with distinct and tasty textures and flavours. The main dishes were also good too. Finished with a small but sufficient bingsu also included in the set meal. Whopping value for under $30.00. Sad to see some old fav dishes go, but the revamp has some real good offerings.
