The wait time for food took some time but no complaints for food - hot, decent portion and delicious. Very much a go to ‘comfort food’ or when ‘I miss my mothers cooking’ type of food. The Watermelon Coconut lime mocktail goes Hard, 10/10, the fresh lime is so refreshing
Gone were the days where this place gave you value for money, good food and service. Most of the staff looked so fed up and over it, with the exception of two staff, the one who wears the crazy beautiful eye makeup and the one with the dreadlocks and piercings who usually is in the kitchen they are both very helpful and friendly, even when they are understaffed on the floor. Our last visit was the final straw and we won’t be going back anytime soon. After waiting and waiting for the women to come back to take our order, when the meals finally arrived one of the them was incorrect as it was chicken and I had ordered beef.. The taquitos were average but the beef enchiladas were horrendous. Smaller than my will to live, and so flat and with such little meat, that a flat earther would use it for a demonstration!!! The chicken that my friend had however was filled to the brim with chicken last pic, so I’m not sure why the beef is constantly lacking and this time they were both lukewarm on the inside, even though the plate was extremely hot. I always remember going here around 5 years ago, having massive enchiladas that you could barely finish. They were always so hot on the inside that you had to wait for them to cool before eating them. It’s such a shame because Montezumas was always a childhood favourite of mine.
There’s a dedicated menu for Vegans and Vegetarians, amazing! They make a delicious Chickenless fajita with fresh ingredients and amazing tortillas. The price is quite reasonable and the desert was amazing. We ordered Platano de Pina which is a hot banana encased in a cinnamon wheat tortilla with pineapples and a delicious coconut cream. I’ll be back for sure with some friends!
Ordered there twice, got disappointed twice. First time they forgot our ice cream and burnt our rice to a crisp. Second time they got our order all wrong - we got beef all around instead of our fish tacos and pork nachos. We placed the order at 6.48 pm, got our food at 8.27 pm. You are not blaming the delivery guy for this - He was perfect. Never again, Montezuma's.
Normally we can't complain..expensive for Mexican but servings adequate, however last night was a disaster. Waited 40 minutes for our meals, one nachos didn't arrive until the other 3 guests in the group had almost finished and was the plate was hot but the meal was cold inside. A chorizo taco was also cold. Two other tables arrived and were served before the last nachos was delivered. The explanation was inadequate and no attempt was made to ensure a repeat visit. One star is 1/2 too many!
Not a bustling place with the fiesta vibe anymore. Across the last few visits quality of food inconsistent, service friendly but stretched across too many tasks. Main meal forgotten tonight, no opportunity for further drinks or water. A few solid faves that bring me back but value for money fading.Food: 3/5
This used to be a fantastic restaurant. Good service and big meals. Great for parents with teenagers. Now it's a shell of it's former self. Next to no service and tiny, sloppy meals. My sons and I were actually laughing when they brought them out after waiting close to an hour to be served. People were turning up to be seated and after 30mins of being ignored they quite rightly walked away as they didn't even have enough service staff only 2 for the entire restaurant to seat people. Such a shame...this used to be such a good restaurant. I assume it changed owners at some point and they thought they could get away with poor quality food at ridiculous prices with below average service. Go to Pepe's at Jindalee instead. It's only 10/15mins away and is exactly what a Mexican restaurant is meant to be like. You'll thank me for it.
This is some of the best food I have ever had, but 3 hours of waiting after getting there at 8 is not very good. The nachos are incredible, but I went with my family a few days ago and my mum got a tamale pie. Apparently it had, I quote 'A different kind of potato'. It was just salt topped with 'potato'.
Jess and Rose were incredible helpful in getting us a table while it was very busy, despite us not having a booking. The food was excellent and the staff were great. Highly recommend! Parking: Lots of parking in the guest parking lot.
Our Usual Restuarant in Albany creek was closed so my partner and I decided to give Taringa a go and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. $70 spent for tasteless rice and small over cooked chicken enchilada whilst the beans looked like something a dog had throw up were absolutely terrible. Definitely would not reccomend and we will not be returning to this store.
