Ever since it’s launch Momo Bar has been making waves in the Sydney food scene. It’s unique concept of serving both Nepalese dumplings (momos) and Hawaiian sashimi salads (poke bowls) delivers fantastically enticing ‘Instagramable’ food that backs up it’s good looks with amazing taste and flavour. Based in Manly this new taste sensation has proved to be as popular with it’s clientele as it has with the food press!

Momo are steamed dumpling with herbs and spices, a traditional himalayan delicacy in Nepal. Served with garlic yogurt & paprika sauce or “Achar” (tomato, sesame seed paste) authentic Nepali style

It was my second time visiting this restaurant in Manly. My second experience was better. It is located in a small ally in Manly. The menu is quite simple, we got Momo in two different sauces but they tasted the same, however it was delicious. We also got Poke ball which was good. The service was quick. The atmosphere there is great especially when you go on a weekend.
I liked this place. Right near Manly beach and it’s tasty food. I like the bowl and they have good gluten free options. A bit on the expensive side. Although the sushi rice was very clumped and sticky, and some of the flavours didn’t overall mesh. Otherwise, good spot for a quick eat!
Got mixed dumplings in traditional sauce. Some of the dough wasn't cooked properly because of the way they folded the dumpling. The broth was nice but presentation was pretty bad, lentils dumplings were nice but vegetable ones are too sour for my liking.
Suddenly feels like Momo, and decided travel to manly to have dumpling from this place. Been here many times before during Zomato and Yelp times, and I do really missed this place. I notice slightly change on serving bowl, they are now using eco friendly utensil. Today I ordered 3 portions to be share, chicken Momo with manly broth, chicken Momo with Nepalese broth and pork Momo with traditional broth. Love all the broth combinations, taste is not bad however i think the old one taste a little tastier than what I had just now.
Perfect local spot for a tasty pokė bowl Fresh food, decent service, cool outdoor seating, fair prices, you don't need anything else. ps: loved the "wasabi peas crunch" topping.
Was waiting for 40 minutes for my food, the order never made it into the kitchen. While 10 dine in people and 3 take out people that came after me were served before me. Apparently the printer had an issues before I ordered. Genuinely wonder how they didn’t notice that the order wasn’t printed right after I paid… they also yelled my order back into the kitchen after I ordered, why did the cook not just prep the food then? Dumplings itself were bland, no taste to them. Location is nice and the concept great, but unfortunately I’ll pass the next time I walk by.
Average experience. Informed me they didn’t have chilli when I picked up 3 large bowls of dumplings but happy to charge me $4 for the chilli and not offer to refund. Had better pork dumplings at many other venues. They don’t wipe or clean the tables down so pigeons like to sit at the table when the tables are unoccupied. Don’t recommend.
I was excited to try this place but it ended up being very disappointing. The poke bowl had way too much soy sauce. There was a puddle at the bottom of the bowl and it was way too salty to eat. Won’t be back again. Cashier was very friendly though!
Tofu Volcano large bowl: 3/5 Sauce was not spicy enough but there were few green chilli slices which gave an unbalanced taste. The quantity was good. The crispy wasabi peas was the highlight of the dish.
Food was ok, poke bowl was a bit dry got the shoyu dressing and the portion of salmon was very small. Overall ok, would be open to trying the momos
